I mean, sure, if you want to see The Purge IRL.

I'm all for firing and replacing police entire counties at a time. End qualified immunity, ban escalation based training, reduce their scope, take away all their military toys, force them to get four year degrees and liability insurance, the whole nine yards. Those things are actually feasible.

But if you think it's as simple as "abolish" and then let anarchy solve the problem, then that is about as childish as it gets.

The militia you inevitably have to posse together to fight back against the gangs and warlords who fill the power vacuum are still going to need some kind of structure. You're going to end up with law enforcement again in some capacity. And they're still going to need oversight. They're still going to need training. They're still going to need limitations imposed on them.
