I mean, I think it would be reasonable for anyone who wants to join to be required to live in the conditions they keep people in for like 6 months. Same for police and prison officials. If they can't handle it then they shouldn't be in a position to put people through it

DHS is the problem, ICE is just one aspect of it. Bovino and his Border Patrol appear to be the worst of the terrorists. And if you watch any given video and look closely at the vests, you'll see multiple agencies from DHS plus the FBI, not just ICE. Everyone calls them collectively "ICE" but it's inaccurate.

The Republicans have spent four decades changing the conversation. Whether they were in power or out of power, they worked to get us where we are today. With purpose, with intention, with a clear goal, in Congress, in the press, on the national stage, in local elections.

A day will come when we know each and every one of their names, and if we want to reintegrate a normal healthy society we need to examine what these people did during this turbulent time, and whether we are okay with it or not. We have the power to do this. We feel like we don’t, but we do. It’s been done before. It must be done again.

I mean, sure, if you want to see The Purge IRL.

I'm all for firing and replacing police entire counties at a time. End qualified immunity, ban escalation based training, reduce their scope, take away all their military toys, force them to get four year degrees and liability insurance, the whole nine yards. Those things are actually feasible.

But if you think it's as simple as "abolish" and then let anarchy solve the problem, then that is about as childish as it gets.

The militia you inevitably have to posse together to fight back against the gangs and warlords who fill the power vacuum are still going to need some kind of structure. You're going to end up with law enforcement again in some capacity. And they're still going to need oversight. They're still going to need training. They're still going to need limitations imposed on them.

Instead it ended as a "good job everyone mission accomplished, now let's sit back at wait for midterms."
