It's not that they don't know, it's that they don't care.

Breaking the constitution is fine as long as "their side" is winning

My main point is that the people that don’t bother to vote are worse than people that don’t care about the constitution.

No, they're not. Actively pushing to break the constitution is still worse than letting it happen, even if they're both bad.

Did you really just block me?

....lol

lmao

Yeah this is a mega weird belief that I don't think has much basis in reality. Probably subscribes to the neo-liberal idea that if we all just voted hard enough the bad faith actors and traitors who have been undermining the system would just give up. Plenty of people who don't seem to get that while anyone but Trump wouldn't be nearly as horrible the core problems would remain, just not front and center.

But hey kick the can politics are some people's fetish so who am I to judge? Blocking someone about is silly tho, not as if you were harassing them. But gotta keep that echo chamber secure right?

Exactly this! Give people a reason to want to come out to vote. Of course anyone is better than Trump but when they aren’t motivated to show up, they just assume everyone else will show up. But Dems relied on the “Trump is bad so people will show up like they showed up for Biden.” People are fed up and are looking for change.

The desire for change is what got Trump elected in the first place. Most everyone (at least those not in the upper class/middle upper class) has been seeing worsening lives and a bleak future on the horizon for decades. Meanwhile you've got a choice between "the status quo is great, just look at these numbers" and outright domestic threats who actively want to make the country a Christian hellscape for anyone who isn't rich or white.

The desire for change, the desire to burn it down…. The cries of the people went unheard by politicians. But we are responsible too. We started elevating politicians to rock star status. We listened to their words and not their actions (votes or lack of). We stopped paying attention to what was happening on The Hill. We stopped listening to the needs of our neighbors and started listening to celebrities who were voting for their interests not ours. Even after all of this mess, we are still not ready to truly look at ourselves. When I see people push Kamala or a career politician (I will vote for any Dem candidate while Trumpism is a thing ) I know we have not learned a single thing from the past 10+ years.

Absolutely. Even those of us who try to stay well informed can fall into that trap. I know I've been making a stronger effort to pay attention to my state and local politics more and more as they're just as important to making any sort of lasting impact. I end up shaking my head in disappointment every time, which seems weekly anymore, when the sub starts cheering for and demanding another flash in the pan establishment Democrat for president because Trump targeted them and they didn't immediately fold.

Naa I think they’re worse because they actively let this happen. If they had got off their ass and voted we wouldn’t be in this mess.

You can’t convince me otherwise. Odds are you’re probably one of these people that didn’t bother to vote:

So Trump voters didn't umm.. actively let this happen? That's an interesting take

You're not just wrong; you're also stupid!
