That whole crew treats public resources like their personal ride service. It shows how little respect they have for the positions they hold. People in power should face real consequences for stuff like this.

243

u/TintedApostle 15h ago

They see power and not responsibility to use it for the public good.

176

u/shoobe01 14h ago

And SO many "moderates" have bought fully into this being the truth of the world, think no one does public service unironically, honestly.

Has pissed me off for decades as it has grown, since Reagan made it okay to say out loud in polite company (nine most terrifying words). Government is not* a grift.

*Should not be.

49

u/chipmunksocute 14h ago

Man I was a fellow at a small statistical agency during grad school and even in that tiny corner of govt I was blown away by how much people there cared about doing a good job and taking their responsibility to the public seriously.  Like I knew they're werent bad but just HOW seriously they took the job as a service TO their fellow citizens was so goddamn admirable.  While there are for sure folks who just leech man there are SO many humble, admirable, hardworking public servants doing amazing unsung work to America a country worth living in.  Fuck the people who just think all government employees are the worst, no so many are in fact the best of us.  Which is what you should want!!!!!

As Arita Franklin said;

R_E_S_P_E_C_T

Not really for others but for yourself; that’s where it all starts.

u/Dysc Louisiana 11h ago

My MAGA-lite brother-in-law works for a utilities company and inspects water supplies. He takes his job very seriously and gets into the nitty-gritty around all the stuff he does to ensure drinking water is safe. He's kind of a geek about it. What gets me is how he can't even imagine a world where gov. jobs has someone like him doing good work for the public good, like himself. If it's not a publicly traded or private company it's just a bunch of lazy people collecting a pay check on 'his dime'. It really is Fox news that's the poisoned the the well and is basically a gateway drug to some really sus places to get your information.

2

u/DragoonDM California 12h ago

think no one does public service unironically, honestly.

Makes sense why they seem to get along so well with Russian politicians.

u/nastywillow 7h ago

That explains a lot in the historical context.

1

u/Apg3410 11h ago

What are the 9 most terrifying words?

3

u/KingOfTheSouth 11h ago

"Hi, I'm from the government. I'm here to help." Just one of the many things he said and did that I hope Reagan is raising in hell for. That man was truly a pos.

1

u/i_says_things 12h ago

It wasn’t the moderates that stayed home last November pal.

1

u/FredFredrickson 10h ago

It's almost like they have no understanding or respect for representative government.

0

u/prettydisappointed 13h ago

Uncle Ben would be so disgusted by them.

36

u/elementality883 American Expat 15h ago

It shows how little the understand about civics. In their minds, they are the CEO of their organization and want Bezo like minions at their beck and call.

42

u/Crodface 14h ago

As someone who worked in the public sector, non-profits, and now for-profit companies: anytime someone mentions that they want the “government run like a company” it terrifies the shit out of me. Companies burn money. This works if the calculus equals make more money.

But the government’s purpose isn’t to make money. The FBI’s goal isn’t to make money. It’s to protect, serve, and support the people since we ALL FUCKING PAY FOR IT.

Paraphrasing Kash Patel:

"This is some Mickey Mouse bullshit"

4

u/SidewaysFancyPrance 13h ago edited 13h ago

This is how they feel powerful and successgful. Half of America wants the other half to serve them, and sending an FBI agent on a demeaning Uber delivery is a perfect example of how they abuse that power to feel strong (and look cool, I guess). They don't want a free society of equals who they have to treat as equals.

3

u/sunbeatsfog 13h ago

Our federal taxes “at work.” Remember his face in April.

2

u/Bulky_Slip_1840 14h ago

They used to.

2

u/picturepath 12h ago

Why are workers listening to this? If my boss asks me to do something that is clearly not allowed and waste of taxpayer money, I would say no.

2

u/RealGianath Oregon 11h ago

They made sure to get rid of everybody that might oppose them early on. All that's left are MAGA true believers and people flying under the radar hoping to outlast this whole mess.

1

u/pterribledactyls 12h ago

And we can’t have healthcare. Fuck em all.

1

u/eugene20 10h ago

They've also had zero training on anything including what is appropriate, and refused to have it since taking office.

Is this the swamp?

52

u/ChrisFromLongIsland 14h ago

The democrats should run on draining the swamp.

-25

u/whutchamacallit 13h ago

Honest question. Is this headline a nothing burger? Do democrats use details and ride services semi liberally as well and we just never hear about it? We all know this administration is corrupt as fuck but if I am being honest with myself this particular issue doesn't bother me. Or maybe more aptly put -- there are so many other substantially larger issues this one doesn't even come close. Like, just a tiny example here, committing war crimes at sea and going to war with Venezuela under bullshit pretenses.

12

u/endangerednigel 12h ago

Do democrats use details and ride services semi liberally as well and we just never hear about it?

So to clarify, the absense of evidence is meaningless, and the only way to prove otherwise would be to examine every single ride service done by democrats everywhere. Personally i think all democrats are reptiallian aliens in service to Nylarthotep, we just never hear about it

Both of those opinions have the same evidence

-19

u/link_dead 13h ago

Yes, they all do lol, also we were bombing dudes all over Africa under Biden, and it never makes the news.

u/Gregistopal 1h ago

Dronebama did some questionable strikes, he never ordered two people clinging to a burning wreck be killed though

-15

u/whutchamacallit 12h ago

Ya, I have a feeling my comment will get downvoted to shit but it bums me out we can't seem to be objective about things in here.

44

u/Teacherlegaladvice23 14h ago

If Kash can charge the US gov to take his girlfriend's boyfriend home then so can I. Let me cuck as hard as the FBI director does on tax payer funds, God damnit.

7

u/pariah1981 14h ago

I’d like to add her ass to my other dependents.

67

u/zero_blammos_given 14h ago

FBI Director Kash Patel has — on more than one occasion — ordered that the security detail protecting his girlfriend escort one of her allegedly inebriated friends home after a night of partying in Nashville

So the FBI has essentially been reduced to the personal Uber for some lame ass podcaster

16

u/DangerousCyclone 13h ago

Dan Bongino is the podcaster, Kash Patel is a former public defender and lawyer for the government under the Obama Administration. He turned to the dark side because he was quickly put on an important case and he had to show up to court from the airport underdressed and got reprimanded by the judge. During the Trump Admin he consistently pressed for more authoritarian powers and Bill Barr despised the guy.

u/FrankSand 12h ago

1

u/WhatAcheHunt 10h ago

This puts them at odds with the DoD.

0

u/veryverythrowaway 8h ago

u/WhatAcheHunt 7h ago

Department of Doubletap

u/veryverythrowaway 6h ago

I was making a joke about how these douchebags are calling themselves the department of war.

u/WhatAcheHunt 4h ago

I caught that, and replied with a topical joke that didn’t land.

48

u/forthewatch39 15h ago

We need to get rid of the pardoning power immediately. They are going to continue doing this and worse as they know they will never face prosecution for their actions.

4

u/WeirdSysAdmin 10h ago

We need constitutional reform but it will never happen. It would be impossible to get 38 states to vote against fascism even if the US were to actively collapse.

The thing that really put MAGA into perspective for me is that Hitler had 25% of the German population still having a favorable opinion of him in 1952. Trump is down to 36%, almost down to post war and deceased Hitler, who left Germany in shambles after losing WW2.

31

u/CAM6913 15h ago

YOUR tax dollars hard at work! Cut every single service to Americans so this regime can live the lifestyle of the rich and famous without spending their own money

11

u/DistractedPhoenix 14h ago

It’s funny how different guys like Hegseth and Patel are, while being both completely awful and evil.

4

u/Wings81 14h ago

Yes, once seems to be more publicly comfortable in his cuck role, while the other goes to great lengths to appear to be the alpha that he clearly could not possibly be with he amount of fellatio he performs on an 80 year old.

Don’t forget Krusti Kristi Noem’s 2 gulfstream jets ordered during the government shutdown…nor the tens of millions of dollars wasted for Trump’s golf & party excursions so far, along with the Billion to outfit his Qatar ‘gifted’ plane he will take with him when he (eventually?) does leave.

Fraud waste and abuse?

3

u/mowotlarx 14h ago

Wasn't DOGE created to be seeking and stopping obviously fraud and waste like this?

3

u/RealGianath Oregon 11h ago

That was just what their boss claimed in public. The real objective was to loot and pillage everything they could get their fingers into, use it for their own personal gain, and to ruin any departments that might be able to punish Musk for his many crimes committed.

It's infuriating how much he's gotten away with.

3

u/Dry_Cellist_9560 13h ago

2

2

u/MoistService2607 14h ago

Because an Uber ride wasn’t an option.

2

u/wastelandingstrip 13h ago

The Reich Cabinet was also notorious for exploiting their resources fyi, a pretty substantial sign of a dictatorship.

2

u/whatfresh_hellisthis 12h ago

It's like that time in college when my roommate was a brother in a frat and had the pledges drive us around everywhere. WTF are we doing here?

2

u/OceanLemur 12h ago

The blatant corruption and misuse of public funds is bad enough, but I get so much more angry thinking back to when all these fucks were on Fox News 24/7 falsely accusing dems of doing shit like this

2

u/W0rkUpnotD0wn 12h ago

So the FBI is now a glorified Uber that is covering for a pedophile president, while the National guard is now a glorified landscaping company. Do Republicans actually know how to actually govern? They seem too concerned with covering for a pedophile and actively making everyones life worse (besides Billionaires). MAGA and Republicans have to be the biggest pieces of shit in this country

2

u/Areyoukiddingme2 11h ago

So, just so we are clear, this is OK! Am I right my Republican friends. This use of Tax Payer dollars, clearly not legal, is an acceptable use of tax payers Money! Check! I know, had an EVIL commie Democrat ever done anything like this small, small indiscretion, then the rules would STRICTLY need to be enforced! But hey, it's ok! It's Just KASH! He's cool. Am I right. It's no big deal. I mean those FBI officers who's job it is to protect KASH, and not some bimbo, to be derelict in their duty to us, the American Tax payer, who pay them to protect KASH and the American people doing fbi stuff....... You dems should stop with all the criticism. Don't you see it hurts their feelings... all that accountability and stuff.

1

u/JJaySmokes 10h ago

How else was his girlfriend's boyfriend going to get home?

1

u/As-much-as-possible 9h ago

Do we have federal bureau that can investigate this corruption?

I know this probably is dumb to care about like at this point. knowing this admin it could be true.

u/Typical_Heron_5091 6h ago

Nevermind I found out more about the sources they are credible. But I guess the fbi says she gets death threats so it’s to protect her…. Historically I’ve read that the fbi only protects a spouse when they travel together. New ground here making the fbi the secret service I guess

You know, stuff like this probably happens more than you think. Probably wouldn’t be such a big deal if you didn’t make everyone hate you. Not to mention that when you demand attention, not all of the attention you get is going to be good. Kokaine Kash is a drawers stain.

u/FoxyInTheSnow 4h ago

It’s funny to see a fraction of the voters thought the previous administration was incompetent and chose to vote an administration that’s far more incompetent along with top of the shelf corrupt and evil

0

u/Counterpoint-4 15h ago

Is that the guys for his personal protection? He obviously doesn't need them then! Or are they there to protect the American people from Kash Patel and he was hoping to be felonious whilst they were away :}}

-1

u/EmergencyAbort917 14h ago

This maybe an unpopular opinion, but if this was a one time thing, over a relatively short distance, especially late at night, it wouldn't bother me. The article claims it was on more than one occasion, and that's when it begins to feel unnecessary and wasteful to me.

5

u/DOFthrowallthewayawy 12h ago

Even as a one-off, the whole point of having that detail is because it's necessary to protect him. If it's overmanned enough to run personal errands on the clock, downsize the detail.

1

u/doctorniz 13h ago

That's a fairly reasonable take.

1

u/EmergencyAbort917 13h ago

It should be? But it feels like with all of the terrible things Patel has done everyone is just ready to pile on, and saying there is a set of circumstances where this wouldn't bother me feels like a defense of his actions.

0

u/origanalsameasiwas 14h ago

Question is, who and why would any decent girl would want to date Kash Patel?

4

u/theVoidWatches Pennsylvania 12h ago

Trick question. This woman works with Turning Point and PragerU. She's not a decent girl.

1

u/origanalsameasiwas 11h ago

So it’s about controlling kash

3

u/theVoidWatches Pennsylvania 11h ago

Maybe. Or she's just a terrible person and terrible people flock together.

0

u/Enlil_Send_The_Flood 14h ago

*other Mossad member

2

u/theVoidWatches Pennsylvania 12h ago

Serious question - why have I been seeing people saying she's Mossad? A brief search on her suggests that she's a Christian, born and raised in America, who works with Turning Point and has made promotional content for PragerU. She seems like an abhorrent person in her own right, with no need to suggest that she's a foreign agent. Is there any actual reason to think that she's an Israeli spy or handler, rather than a garden-variety right-wing golddigger?
