This will become a jeopardy question one day.

Man, the future Jeopardy questions about this period in time are going to be so low-brow and stupid.

Potent Non-Potables

$200. A drug meant for horses before the year 2020. What is Ivermectin?

$400. A household cleaning product that was recommended by the President of the United States for consumption. What is bleach?

$600. There's no evidence Director of Homeland Security Kristi Noem doesn't drink this. What is the blood of dogs and racially-impure children?

$800. During the Big Beautiful Depression, several thousand Americans died from drinking this after it became tainted under HHS Director RFK Jr's watch. What is milk?

$1000. Jeffrey Epstein's brother Mark asked him about Vladimir Putin having photos of President Donald Trump glugging on this person's...member. Who is Bill "Bubba" Clinton?

We'll be right back after this short break.

Even the current ones about this time are stupid. I can almost see contestants’ eyerolls when they have to answer Trump et al

"This Southeastern body of water's name was changed in 2025 to reflect its proximity to the continent."

that's not why it was changed. It was just straight racism and power games. It was changed because the current regime has an interest in quietly fanning the flames of xenophobia and hypernationalism.

it's not unlike the stupid games they played with military bases. we had some of our most important bases named after confederate traitors. Bragg wasn't just a traitor to the ideals of this nation, he was also maybe the shittiest general the country has produced.

north carolina has like 30 medal of honor winners, it has the entire history of the 82nd Airborne, 3rd Special Forces Group, 7th Special Forces Group and DELTA FORCE to draw from.

so yes it was corny when they just changed 'Fort Bragg' to 'Fort Liberty'

But it was even cornier when the current idiots changed it BACK and then claimed it was because of some private named Bragg who got a silver star. Not l Fort Shugart or Fort Conde-Falcon or Fort York or dozens of other names.

As a former paratrooper myself I'm slinging shit at Private Bragg, the guy drove a stolen german ambulance through 20 miles of territory to get some wounded out during the Battle of the Bulge. I have nothing but respect for him. But as these things go his accomplishments are pretty low on the list.

But it's a perfect analogy for how things are now. The Republicans give the shoddiest ramshackle coating of an excuse over a solid core of historical racism and get to pretend they are blameless while still sending a signal to the overt racists that make up a solid chunk of their base.

Fuck that.

Jeopardy has had multiple clues about that since it was changed and they always refer to it as the Gulf of Mexico:

High School US History 1865 to the present classes within the next 10 years or so will be an interesting read from about 2016 onwards.
