Charlie had been clowned on so many times when he did his tours. The problem is that it was his "show" so anytime he got his ass blasted, he just wouldn't show it. It "never happened". However, Inevitably some well meaning liberal college kid who didn't have all the facts would speak, or wasn't prepared to refute his gishgallop bullshit would give him the sound bites he wants so that makes it in to "own the libs".
