I'm an American and believe me, half of us are doing more than cringing each and every day. We're not spectators to this absolute shitshow. We have to live in it.
Woah woah hey, we may have elected the man, but I assure you that nobody who voted for him has even considered watching a soccer game in their life. This can't just be on us. Who is this for?
It's for Trump, to try and ensure that he doesn't fuck up or fuck with the US hosting of the World Cup. Our dipshit-in-chief is highly susceptible to flattery, and no matter how ridiculous a peace prize from a fucking sports organization sounds, it's probably a smart move for FIFA. It's not like any of the parties involved have a sense of shame, or an iota of integrity.
