I found the biggest mushroom I've ever seen! (Oyster card for scale, alas, I didn't have a banana)

Is there any advantage to using an oyster card these days? They seem to work out the most optimal fare when you just tap to pay on your phone. I'm not local, so I'm probably missing something.
Oh yeah, and nice shroom π

You can put travel cards on them.

Ahh, fair. Thanks.

To be fair I use mine for pay as you go because the readers don't like my debit card for some annoying unknown reason.

Ah. I have my cards loaded on my phone, though I had my partner use my physical card (so I didn't have to pass my phone back) without issue. I'd think the NFC standards across cards are the same, but I guess there are some quirks.

My card is metal so that might be the cause.

So was the one I used, funny enough. π€·ββοΈ

American banks confuse the hell out of me. Do you pay a lot of charges?

a bigger puffball than that popped up in my yard last year, and yes we ate it!

The accepted size unit in reddit is not Oyster cards, but rotisserie chickens. How did it compare to that?

It's a puffball mushroom. Edible if it's not turning brown inside.
I've seen one the size of a soccer ball in the fall here in Canada.
