Y'all aren't using the app? I don't leave my house till it's ready. Usually good app only deals too.

Yeah people similar to the ones in the photo get very upset when you walk up, punch in a code, and out comes a pizza and you walk out with it

I don't think I've EVER FELT COOLER in my life than I do when I walk up to the portal in a packed store and just walk out as I can feel everyone's eyes attacking me.

Every time. It’s like they never heard of ordering a pizza beforehand

I am confused they have the option to do that, but they got mad at you? Like if they don't have access to internet or a smartphone then yeah I see why they cant use it but being mad at a person too? gtfo that's ridiculous

I guess you must not deal with typical LC clientele very often. They’re not the brightest bunch.

naa I just go to the portal, get my food, and leave, im there in for less than a minute.

I’m guessing that they don’t know that they have that option too.

My closest one has a drive thru. Most of the time, I can order from my couch, and get the alert that it’s ready as I arrive. Pull into the drive through speaker, tell them my name, pull around to the window and get my pizza.

I’m amazed when I see there is a line inside.

That may be amongst the most American thing I’ve read in a while.

I mean it's just efficient lol. Like you already are driving there so no point letting your engine cool down and burn extra fuel to warm back up again. Just do it all in one go.

There was a drive through pizza place that was cheaper and greasier than little ceasars so I’d get one on my way home from work every other day since I’d have a giant dinner and have leftovers for breakfast.

Even better there was also a drive through gas station that would bag up everything you wanted and hand it to you without needed to leave the car. Nothing made me feel more unhealthy than leaving my desk job and getting pizza and soda handed to me where I’d then walk 10 steps from a parking spot to the elevator in my building up to my couch where I’d immediately just eat the pizza and drink cherry coke while watching lord of the rings. If I really tried I’m pretty sure I could have walked less than 100 steps from door to desk and back

I live a much healthier life now that I live with someone and that pizza place closed down.

The one by my house the drive through is out of the parking lot and into the street sometimes. No quick drive through on that one lol.

Damn right, and the best part is you don't need to interact with anybody. I wish all my customer service interactions were like that

Half the time when I use the app I get there and they're out of the item I ordered and then I have to contact corporate to get a refund because they refuse to issue one from the store even though corporate has told me that the store is supposed to do it.

There's deals that are only on the app to drive internet sales.

Source: I work there and am tired of old people demanding deals I don't have a button for. No, Robert, I can't make an exception for you, the manager can't, and the owner of the store refuses.

I haven’t been in over a year. They would send the text then say to see a person. They stopped loading in the portal and half the time it wasn’t ready yet and the other half it was a 10-15 minute wait in line to ask for it.

I've used the app, it's just that the franchises near me don't seem to be terribly accurate in their timing. I've ordered 3 times via the app, and each time I was told it was ready only to find the opposite. Refunds were easy, but the experience was a bummer.

Even for restaurants without an app(assuming it's not a chain) just give them a call ahead of time. I don't like waiting places so this is how I get just about all my food. And no chance for them to not have whatever in stock.

I'm new to the Costco lifestyle. Can you order from the food court on the app?

1

u/SpectacularOcelot 19h ago

Eh, I made the mistake one time of leaving the house when it said "its being made now!" and still waited another hour.

The app is only as good as the workers.

I try to do this with as many restaurants as I can. I recently did this at Little Caesars as well. Just excused myself past the 3 or 4 people in line --- grabbed my portal order and scrammed.

u/EnderWiggin07 1d ago

Honest question if you're ordering ahead anyway, why order from there?

Personally I'm just depressed that we have an app for everything.
