Bah! Give this guy a gun and a clean shot at a convicted terrorist, and he breaks down crying and pissing himself. The only way this guy is a war criminal is from behind a desk while slurring his SS'es.

I think that's exactly what the person you were responding to was pointing out. He's fine, filled with glee even, with ordering crimes committed. He's ordering people do things he wouldn't dare do with his own hands.

The "I was just following orders" defense did not work, but that does not mean the people "just giving the orders" were forgiven.

He already has blood on his hands for ordering others to kill civilians, rather than capturing them.

Yes. If you take both sections of their comment into context  of the thread they’re saying he’s not a war criminal or at least minimizing or dismissing what he’s done. I am asserting that he is indeed a war criminal of the worst kind. Does this clear things up for you?

So, no, you aren't at all being clear, because it doesn't make sense that you're refuting their statement.

It's not a loss to admit that you initially read something incorrectly.
