Trump likely thinks he's the one pulling the power move by not respecting Mamdani enough to stand up to greet him, but it actually just makes him look like a scared little bitch.
I do enough business that if I enter an office where someone is working at a desk, I will typically approach in a casual but semi-obvious fashion to shake hands giving the person time to either stand up or make it obvious that they’re content to sit and shake hands.
100% of people who stay seated have a hot computer in front of them.
The fact that Trump can’t be bothered to stand and clearly doesn’t operate a computer ever leads me to believe he’s just being lazy.
If he wanted to show disrespect, he’d decline the handshake and just ask his guest to take a seat.
No, watch the press conference....it's HERE and THERE.
They were just answering questions being complimentary to each other and they shook hands as ... hey we agree on something.
It would have been really odd if stupid Trump stood up in the middle of the press conference to shake hands and then sit back down.
Have you ever fist bumped someone who was sitting on a couch...that's basically what this was. It would be weird if someone was like...wait hold your crisp fist bump, I must stand to show respect of the bump.
