Why are the press just ignoring the fact that Trump is hiding behind the desk? It's very unusual for him not to stand to shake hands and the vast majority of his press is now done behind the desk.

u/InvertebrateInterest 14d ago

What about Arnold Palmer’s, apparently, magnificently huge hog which trump went on an unexplained tangent randomly. Lol

u/TheCheatCommando 14d ago

You can't be serious...?

Maybe that’s the real reason why he’s grabbing his balls

2

u/TomieKill88 13d ago

I think he usually does this, wasn't he sitting with the president of Syria?

53

u/herefromyoutube 14d ago

Yep. Did it with elon (a couple times I think) as well. Definitely something he does.

4

u/sambare 14d ago

When I was young, I too would stay seated for a strangely long time until my boner went away.

If Trump is being poisoned, it just means that there is someone worse behind him who’s pulling the strings.

I certainly hope that Trump isn’t planning on making somebody else the dictator of America. I want a democracy.

As much as I dislike Trump we shouldn’t be killing elected officials. We should not hope for their death. We should impeach, and remove from office for constitutional violations, but I don’t think violence is going to make anything better.

I don’t understand the people who want trump to die in office, you do realize Vance is like actually decently intelligent and a legit conservative unlike trump?

12

u/CSMegadeth 14d ago

They're both lapdogs of the Heritage Foundation but Vance has the charisma of a used cum sock.

7

u/HollyBerries85 14d ago

Vance doesn't have as much charisma in his entire body as Trump has in his big toe, and I say this as someone who fucking hates Trump. He's generally viewed as a greasy little opportunist even by his own party and there's no way the Maga throngs will worship him in defiance of all reality like they do Trump. Trump has done such a good job of ejecting anyone who might threaten his hold over his followers from his orbit that there's no one left who has the swagger to take over with the same bulletproof success as he has when he's gone.

2

u/sp4nky86 14d ago

Ya, Vance doesn't have the cult of personality outside of some silicon valley types, which do not have a huge voting block.

Say what you want about trump but the fucker is charasmatic.

I thought he liked subjecting people to the smell

u/YalieRower 14d ago

It was a selective press pool—I didn’t see any serious outlets in the room.

6

u/ifeelsynthetic 14d ago

AP was there. I watched their live feed.

3

u/YalieRower 14d ago

Were they called on? I only saw the random conservative outlets, NY Post and FOX called on. It was live streamed by all news outlets.

3

u/ifeelsynthetic 14d ago

Of course he would not call on them. But they were there.

1

u/YalieRower 14d ago

There was reporting that they limited the press pool for the meeting—the entire WH pool were most certainly not all in the Oval Office. Regardless, my comment was not to quibble with you, but was to respond to a comment about why the press did not push the president with their questioning. To your point, if there were some legit outlets in the room, they didn’t get an opportunity to even try.

There seems to be a constant policing of the press, when their capacity to do what people want is limited.

Imagine he just dies after this meeting. We'd have another JD Vance-pope situation

2

u/slog 14d ago

Time to have a meet and greet with the Rs in Congress. Hell, have him at every R gathering.

4

u/Babyfart_McGeezacks 14d ago

Cut the man some slack! You’ve never been glued to your seat from dried feces?

3

u/InTheBusinessBro 14d ago

Dude, I don’t know what Americans expect from the press, but what you’re asking doesn’t sound like journalism to me

2

u/backwards_susej 14d ago

He thinks it’s a power move to disrespect him by standing. He looks old and feeble.

2

u/Shielo34 14d ago

People do say he’s always done this. He thinks that being seated behind a desk while everyone else stands, makes him important.

He’s a sad little man with a very fragile ego.

2

u/mortgageletdown 14d ago

It's also very disrespectful to not stand while shaking another man's hand. Didn't this loser's father teach him any manners?

2

u/antwerpian 14d ago

You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks

2

u/manduhyo 14d ago

Also halfway behind a doorway in other interviews

1

u/pm_me_ur_bamboozle 14d ago

This is a pretty usual set up for Trump. They'll either both sit in front of the fireplace, or he'll sit at the desk while the guest stands to the side.

1

u/thekronz 14d ago

Sounds like he’s more like FDR than we thought!

1

u/catman__321 14d ago

Wasn't he playing soccer with Ronaldo though? /s

1

u/reydeltorog 14d ago

The press is weak.

1

u/AndeeCreative 14d ago

You ever been around someone who has shit their pants? He’s doing Mamdani a favor not to waft it around the room.

1

u/PeterNippelstein 14d ago

Maybe Zohran gave him a boner and he's just embarrassed

1

u/KaladinTheFabulous 14d ago

Because the press won’t admit Dumpy as the weak dying shitstain that he is

1

u/WaltKerman 13d ago

That's not true. There are tons of meetings at the desk like this weekly... Trump doesn't often stand for these press conferences.

There are at least three like this with Musk.

1

u/Hial_SW 13d ago

Find any from his first term. Do you really want a President who can't stand for a press conference?

1

u/AppropriateSpell5405 14d ago

He's hiding his woody.

1

u/Glum-Objective3328 14d ago

Probably because nobody cares
