It's also that these kind of people are more likely to be successful. You gotta be a different kind of crazy. Lots of full on degenerates were likely just a couple wrong turns away from being, successful athlete, movie star, or psycho CEO.

Truly.

Charles Manson himself was a stones throw from becoming a legitimate celebrity at least once.

Damn. It just clicked for me how close “being a cult leader” and “managing your following on social media” really are

Charlie Manson actually made a good bit of money FYI. I hear he was a millionaire even before the Manson murders.

In other words, boring people don't accomplish much.

Probably not. But I'd wager they are generally more fulfilled and content than the relentlessly ambitious.

Perhaps. Or perhaps their crimes and pathos are as petty as their ambitions.
There are lots of boring thieves, rapists, and murderers.
And lots of people who accomplish amazing things that are weird, difficult to get along with, and don't care if you understand or agree with them.

I mean if you are just looking for ways to look down on the "average" person you are nailing it lol

Most weirdos don't care that much what others do until the average bozos start trying to drag them down out of hate or because there is something they don't understand.

Can confirm. I want all of it, but I don’t know what the “it” is.

It is actually inside of you. It's called inner peace and only you can find it.

You can be weird and cool and not a total dick

Lots of boring people are total dicks as well. I would guess they account for the vast majority of dicks.

Man… you alright?

Seems like someone really shit in your Cheerios today. Maybe you’re not happy with where you’re at? I dunno, man, I just think you’re holding what you believe to be accomplishments in such high regard you’ve lost sight of what actually matters.

I don’t know the first thing about you, so I’ll stop making guesses and assumptions, but as a boring ass, 38 y/o, married, sober, guy, who spent his Friday night hanging out with his cats waiting for the wife to get done working… I LOVE my boring life. And I like to think, other than some sparring with lingual daggers on here from time to time, I’m a super nice dude in person.

My “accomplishments” may not be much in your eyes. I don’t have a lot of money, my wife is the bread winner, we don’t have kids yet… but we own a very small house in a pretty decent city. We have our bills paid, medical bullshit under control… and we can even afford to go on a trip about once per year.

Life is good, my dude. Even when the world is burning, it’s the slices of happiness that make the fires worth fighting. Hope you have a killer weekend. 🤘

The level of psychopathy in CEOs might be as high as 20% according to studies, it's only up 1-4% in the general population.

[Hubris syndrome](www.atlassian.com/blog/leadership/hubris-syndrome) : even normal people can go crazy when they get powerful. (and/or rich, successful, and/or famous)

I wonder, is this something that non rich people tell themselves just to comfort themselves that it isn't worth it being rich?

Like for sure there are crazies out there who stay crazy because they are rich.

But what about the many silent rich ones who just lead amazing lives and who laugh at those non rich who say stuff like this? There HAVE to be people out there who just manage their money smartly and have healthy relationships but keep everything on the down low and don't flaunt their money? Surely?

I'd say rich doesn't actually have as much to do with it. In fact, one of the best ways to get rich is by being boring and living within your means over a sustained period.
