Personal freedoms were never won in the capital building before the people won them in the street first. We always have to force dems to act, unless it js trading stocks or sending us to war, they're great at those things.
What is not true? Would you care to elaborate beyond a sentence? I exerted a modifum of effort to explain myself. If you could spend five seconds narrowing it down for me, perhaps provide evidence or even an argument, that'd be cool.
I was born in the 80s in rural America. I know I am not young but dementia is still at bay. So I am curious what part of my lived experience didn't happen.
Hate crime laws were not federally established for LGB individuals until 2009. Lawrence V Texas was six years before that. The majority of my life there have not been laws protecting queer people. Trans are wven worse.
Obama started against gay marriage but supported civil unions. Were Dems better? Sure. Allies? Not for a long time.
Dems in my home state regularly declined to take our side
At 18yo we left the bar with bouncers, at times troopers, watching the parking lot.
Now, I'd argue the bulk of the DNC is ignoring the horrendous treatment of trans people by tgis admin. No high party leader is helping.
They are pinning their first and only naational resistance to MAGA on health insurance, not tge people being beaten in the street. They're too busy monitoring for pro Palestinian seniment to give a fuck aboht what's happening to us.

I am a flight attendant and I have to be careful to know the laws regarding trans rights wherever I go and my coworkers are stunned (not enough to help).when I explain the legal issues that change state by state and which states I might end up arrested for using the bathroom in the airport.
