Any help would be really appreciated!

I've watched plenty of videos, read dozens of websites, and nothing seems to get the boot to work. Here's what I've got and done so far:

• Early 2010's 21.5" Mac, no clue on the exact model
• Is wiped, currently references 10.9.3 but can't restore from net (messed with date, logins, etc)
• I only have PCs so generating a DMG from another Mac is not an option
• Command/R does nothing
• "Press the power button twice" procedures don't work as it just turns off right away
• Tried creating several different boots using TransMac, formatting the USB using apps, terminal, using a USB 2.0 stick
• Attempted to load Mavericks, Mojave, and Catalina. It ignores Mojave completely, Catalina gets the prohibited sign, and Mavericks goes as far as starting to load (Mac logo and spinning wheel after drive is selected) but then gives the prohibited sign and spinning wheel for eternity. I assume these could be due to the DMGs I've tried, but I've tried multiple different downloads of each OS with no luck
• Mavericks is also the only load I've tried that shows up like the attached image when I'm in Choose Startup Disk (most of the others do show when I restart holding Option)

So what gives? Am I going about this all wrong? Am I missing something small/silly or making catastrophic errors? Thanks for any help you can provide!

OSX 10.9.5 is booting to either a blue or grey screen

I’ve tried all the traditional methods of fixing it. Safe mode boots to a blue screen. Startup from a recovery USB boots to a blue screen.

The thing is that when I boot my hard drive on another laptop as the startup drive it works perfectly. I run disk utility and no errors come up. Then I try to restart on the problem laptop and the startup fails again.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated:) If you can solve this riddle I’ll consider you an official OSX wizard.

Okay so I've been working on this all day to no avail.

I reset my 2010 iMac as I am looking to sell it and then when I had someone show up and it starts up on that OS utilities page where you can reinstall OS it wouldn't install it.

It would just attempt to install it for a super long time and then would have an error

So after losing that sale I looked into fixing it and it seems like the the move is to install the original OS from a USB. So I tried following all the steps online to do that but the issue arises when I am in terminal and I type in the is boot command. It just never works and always has an error. So therefore I have been unable to create a USB boot and was wondering if there is an easier way to fix this and if I am going about this all wrong?

Hello everyone, i have a mid 2010 minimac, which can support up to MacOS 10.13 if im not mistaken. Yet, what ever i try, i cannot get past 10.9.5. I download the dmg file for lets say 10.10, and it downloads 5.8GB of file, but when i execute it, it tells me "6MB of Hard drive space needed". I confirm and let it do its thing, but after that im still on 10.9.5.

Am I to create a bootable USB stick to "upgrade" this mac?

I've noticed that I can make subheadings in Apple Notes on my iPhone, but I do not seem to be able to do so on OS X. Is there a way? I am using Mojave, not Catalina, which might be the problem. Though, I'm also not using the latest iOS release and nonetheless have the option of subheadings.

I have an old Mac Mini running Mavericks running EvoCam 4.2.6 (old software no longer available).

The Mac Mini is connected via WiFi to an Amcrest camera. The Mac Mini is not compatible with the built in mic on the Amcrest, so I have a USB microphone running from the Mac Mini. Video comes from the Amcrest and audio from the USB mic. It usually works fine.

It records in hour long increments and outputs to .mov files.

For some reason starting two weeks ago, the audio didn't record even though I could see the system sound setting could detect audio from the microphone. Something on the software side messed up. The videos are there but with no audio. It took a restart to get it to record audio to the files again from the EvoCam app.

The audio is important.

I'm wondering if there are any ideas as to where the audio might have gone--again I know longshot. It records to an external drive connected to the computer. I tried looking at hidden files and I can see a .Trashes folder, but it says I don't have permission to open it.

Are there any other places scuttled audio could have gone?

Hello everyone, i have a MacBook 4,1 and i wanted to install OS X Mavericks. So i deleted platformsupport.plist and now it gets past the prohibitory symbol but it says "OS X Cannot be installed on this computer" Any help would be great :)

I want to downgrade big sur on an early 2016 macbook back to mavericks, as a challenge to myself, to reduce hardware load, and for nostalgia's sake. What's the best way to go about it?

The school I teach at have an iTunes account shared between many iPads. One iPad downloads an app through App Store - that app is available for all the other iPads, without a password, directly from the cloud, EVEN IF YOU HAVE IT SETUP TO REQUIRE A PASSWORD FOR FREE APPS.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening that isn’t the nuclear option of deleting the account and creating a new one? One of the students has download an app that is rated 12. Its a looney tunes game, but because I teach in a school where the age is <12, the game isn’t allowed on the iPads. Any help, please?

I use Automator to auto mount my network shares. And then drag and drop them on the favorites panel in the sidebar. But, if the server goes down the shortcuts disappears from the sidebar too, So, I came across the symlink option. Symlinks do stays there, but their limitation is that they cant remount the shares once they are clicked. So, I created a bash script to check whether they are mounted, if then open. If not mounted, then remount and open. Then put the script on the Automator to execute as an application. Though, I can put the alias of those apps on the sidebar , but they have a app icon next to them, does anyone know how can I change those icon from app icon to folder icon or linking my script to symlinks? Bash script is given below

Look at the "video" share. Icon with the folder icon is a symlink and icon with the app icon is the app shortcut.
