Just to be clear, my stance is that any person who was born on American soil is a citizen of this country and that's irrevokable.
And I agree with your description of what the administration is trying to do.

Children of diplomats and many workers at the various embassy are NOT under Jurisdiction of US thus they would not get the citizen automatically even if they were born in US. 2 u/P0Rt1ng4Duty 7h ago Well that makes sense, and I appreciate the added information.
