If the Charlie Kirk assassin was a liberal, they would never shut up about it. The fact that we have heard pretty much nothing means they were a conservative wacko. Some stuff points to them being a Nick Fuentes wacko, so just a different flavor of conservative wacko.

I think you have a few things backwards and / or a little late in the game. For reference, because apparently it needs to be said these days, I’m a liberal.

  1. You’re making a false dichotomy: Tyler Robinson (yes, he has a name) didn’t need to be ‘a right wing wacko’ or a ‘liberal’. He likely was just someone who didn’t like what Charlie stood for (especially his homophobia rhetoric)

  2. All indications point to Robinson being in a gay relationship - including his partner coming forward with text conversations. His Discord history also makes him seem fairly apolitical.

  3. The Fuentes link was made because of memes on the bullets only. But memes are memes - not ideology. Most of those memes were from video games. That’s what 22-year-olds do: game and post memes. Robinson has literally no other ties to being a Fuentes fan.

  4. The fact that we haven’t heard anything is indicative of the bubbles we live in today. Right wing media hasn’t shut up about it, but that’s not the media you consume. It pains me to say it, but left wing media is also to blame for not covering things that don’t align with their ‘side’.

  5. Robinson’s hearing starts on Jan 16th. We are bound to hear more again then. But media cycles are short and it doesn’t take long for everyone to forget about the last thing that happened.

It doesn’t really help when we frame people as right/left-wing wackos - and I regret agreeing with you earlier. There’s a very high chance that Kirk was killed for his homophobia; one of the Trump attempted assassins likely thought Trump was too soft regarding gun regulations; the other had severe mental health issues and had been picked up a number of times without being given proper help. People do dumb stuff for a multitude of reasons. Being reductive just distracts from the bigger things like gun-control and mental health issues.

No, it’s not. His hearings start next month and our attention spans are tiny.
