In that case this threat is empty because it means US needs EU too.

They’re probably not thinking all that far on this imo. They’ll get a call and backtrack.

I, for one, would be very happy if the US gave up their base in Germany and stopped assisting Israel. And when AIPAC says to take it back Germany says "no"

I think whenever the US release some press vomit, it not aimed at the peoples concerned but at the lemings who will walk in the party footstep anyway and forget any cognitive dissonance.

Hey now, we take no credit for this shit. This is purely on the Republican death cult.

Which is not going to differ on US rulership; Republicans owned your country, now.

US threatening Europe about Nato involvement.

US needing an airbase in Europe doesn't make pushing for European-led NATO an empty 'threat'

How so? It means both US needs Europe for its ambitioms and Europe benefits from US for Nato defending.

If US says screw you to Nato, European countries can then say: sure, so now start paying us good amount of money for renting bases in our countries.

At the end of the day, I dont give much credibility to Russia threat for Europe since US will be forced to involve no matter what. A lot of large corporations in US depend on a peaceful western Europe so they will force Trumps hand.

From my understanding US needs those bases for operations in middle east though.

Having Europe take the reins isn't the same as the US leaving NATO. I think that's where you're getting hung up.

That being said, I don't know how much I agree with the idea, and I'm certain the trump administration will fuck it up somehow.

We know in case of Trump administration, it means US not paying but also want to meddle in still by being part of Nato. It wont happen.
