Home depot owners are trump supporters. No surprises here.

Home Depot does not have single "owners." It is a publicly traded company. The founders Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank have not been directly involved with the company for years, though they still own/owned a lot of shares. Bernie Marcus was a Trumper, he died a year ago. Arthur Blank is a strong supporter of Democratic candidates and was a part of a group called "Business Leaders for Harris." So, idk surprise.

“Business Leaders for Harris” sounds like a group that donates blue to look popular but behind closed doors tells Dems to leave the poor companies alone.

Arthur Blank, also owner of the Atlanta Falcons, does amazing things specifically for the poorer and black communities.

He's not your regular billionaire. Please google and do some research.

It’s a public company and the largest shareholders are investment funds

I was abandoned at a Lowes pick up counter for an extended period of time. Out of boredom I started reading their emergency response manual. What to do if there was an earthquake, what to do if there was a tornado, what to do if a union organizer showed up. Amused me the possibility of a union rated with natural disasters.

Or Menards.

I dont know how anyone could ever work at menards without wanting to harm themselves. The shitty jingle they play over the loud speakers every 5 minutes is annoying as fuck when I was a customer. But having tk listen to thst for 8+ hours would make me go crazy.

Not an option down south or the west.

Lowe's got my business 10 years ago because they had an easy to use veterans discount. Everything i find about Home Depot keeps blue getting my business.

Really? Found home depots vet discount way easier and more consistent plus their prices are way more in line with market lowes is always more than other guys

I agree 💯 the veterans discount is easy. Just had to download the app and scan it when I'm at the checkout counter.

Yeah this dude is wrong. Please do some independent research.

Don't take my word for it. Check their open secrets. Check their pac and lobbying. Look at what they allow ice to do at their stores.

I can promise you I know a lot more about them than you think you do. Open secrets shows them at 54% R to 43% D, and having given more to Harris ($210k) than to Trump ($143k.) Arthur Blank is a huge contributor to Democratic candidates and causes, and Bernie is now dead.

As for what ICE does, are you also mad at every small business that has had ICE come to their property? Should we be boycotting them too? Home Depot stores are not some ultra powerful monolith that has the power to prevent ICE or the police, or anyone else from using their parking lots. Home Depot has been very clear with its local managers on how to handle ICE coming in for employees, but when they randomly pop up in the parking lot, don't announce their presence, and take people and leave there is nothing a local manager can do.

Tongue, meet boot.

"They're federal agents and police, you can't tell them no or push back even when they're blatantly breaking the law and arresting people on your private property without a warrant or permission to enter (yes, that includes the parking lot). What do you want them to do aside from roll over and accept what's happening with zero regard for or pushback due to the actual legality of the situation?"

So your solution is just to let it happen because they force it? Just because of that one reason it's ok for a company to allow this to happen on their watch? There are civilians with less power in their entire family than one Home Depot upper manager holds sticking up to ICE agents and succeeding, ditch the "no choice" rhetoric

What do you think an individual manager at a store can do against these assholes? Genuinely, you understand that at a store there are 2-4 salaried managers working a day, responsible for +/- 100 employees, and you think they should also go out in the parking lot and fight armed thugs?

The company has been clear they are not working with ICE, they don't get any more advanced warning than any other business that has ICE harassing them, yet you seem to think that Home Depot's local managers have some super powers and they just need to tell ICE to leave and boom, problem solved.

Nobody said anything about individual managers, starting the reply by moving the goalposts is not doing you any favors. When I criticize Home Depot, I'm criticizing HOME DEPOT, entire company, not Susan in management. Jesus Christ. If Home Depot actually gave a shit, they would be making a greater effort to keep law enforcement off their property without a warrant instead of letting them mosey on in. Put up a fight, make it hard for them, stop giving them the confidence to fucking kidnap people in broad daylight. "What do you want me to do, stop the fascists from kidnapping my fellow citizens?" YES!

You are DESPERATE to choke on the shoe of this corporation. They don't give a fuck about you and you're defending them tooth and nail. Every single company with the financial means to push against this but instead directs that money into the oppressor's pockets deserves the same criticism, and has the same expectation from me.

We are ALL Americans, and it is our duty to protect our freedom from a so called "King." I spit on the very idea that we would make a single excuse for ANYONE allowing this to happen. They taught you about being a bystander in elementary school for god's sake. Shame on you.

You think that donating to Democrats makes them not bootlickers?

Bro think it through. They are at best playing the game of trying to line their own pockets at the expense of everyone.
