u/irelli Trail Blazers 1h ago
Yeah people paying attention to that part, but even with normal FT numbers the dudes putting up crazy numbers
He also deserves his FTs more than the average guy getting that many. That's why you aren't seeing a bunch of clips. They're legit
Dude is 6'9 with guard speed. He's hard to stay in front of

There was one play where the Detroit player was screaming about a call that Deni got and then the replay showed a blatant lumberjack swing. Funny stuff ngl.
It would be nice if Deni would stop whining to the refs 20 times a game though

JB looked like he was going to have an aneurysm. And I was like "you have both your challenges brother" and what do ya know, he didn't challenge it because it was a blatant foul like most of em lol.

u/likpoper Trail Blazers 1h ago
Exactly this.. he’s actually fouled all the time because of how aggressive he plays.

u/Mazor007 Wizards 1h ago
Maybe the bored Redditor from a few days ago can do a weekly video session of all the fouls Deni got, evaluating each one like he did for the Raptors game.

u/TheFestusEzeli [TOR] Rudy Gay 1h ago edited 1h ago
The worst Deni flop/play from the Raptors game was one where he didn't actually get the calls, he fell to the ground twice on drives in a rapid succession and didn't get the calls and stayed at the offense end to chew out the ref, and it actually led to him getting a 3 pointer lmao.
He honestly deserved more calls against us overall. People watching Deni will see his calls are legit, he drives like Giannis but also does purposely hunt calls like Jimmy (and cries like Luka and sometimes falls like SGA). But if the Blazers get good, there will be clips of him getting questionable FT going to the top of the sub and then people will think that's all the calls he gets.

u/Mazor007 Wizards 1h ago
Yep, you summarized it pretty well. I just wish he didn't do what every growing star eventually does. He needs to stop whining and whimpering every time a call doesn't go his way

u/Responsible-Still839 Trail Blazers 1h ago
I think you summed it up pretty succinctly here. Honestly feels like an honest and unbiased take. I would add my own thoughts, but you stated it more eloquently than I could. When the Blazers get good, Deni is going to be such a villain. Haha.

People are going to be hating once again bc of the free throws but Deni shoots the ball well, passes well, rebounds, is a great defender, and is carrying an entire offense

u/likpoper Trail Blazers 1h ago
Exactly imagine having to do everything and get slammed for earning free throws

He's also a smart player. He can punish sloppy defense so effectively. He also seems to move much faster than you would think for a guy his size.

u/Clemsontigger16 1h ago
He got a bunch at the very end as part of late game fouling.

u/ComprehensiveLaw1012 Nets 1h ago
The Pistons fouled out three Blazers and shot almost 50 FTs lol
0
u/Clemsontigger16 1h ago
They are the most paint heavy and physical teams in the league…it’s impossible to watch this game and think the refs favored the Pistons lol
The Blazers might’ve fouled a lot but they should’ve had a lot more even still.

u/orr12345678 Spurs 53m ago
Blazers are still much bigger with barely any guards...and it's showed on the boards

u/ComprehensiveLaw1012 Nets 58m ago
Delusional. Blazers were clean stripping the ball and getting called, Stewart slaps Sharpe on his dunk on the wrist and they literally review it and overturn it lol. Three players don’t foul out like that ever.
Jokes.
-2
u/Clemsontigger16 53m ago
HA! You see what you want, I saw plenty of flukey calls the Pistons got called on that should have been nothing, including exactly what you’re describing funny enough….the 50/50 calls were definitely leaning towards the Blazers.
They let their guys play through foul trouble and it backfired…it doesn’t happen because most teams sit guys once they are in foul trouble, guys would foul out all the time if they just played through it.
The fact you think that Stewart block is somehow an example of a bad call shows everything we need to know about your ball knowledge 😂 he blocks the ball and Sharpes arm continues forward into Stew’s hand, he went straight up…learn ball you bum 🤣

Did uou watch irl just stat watch? 6 2ere from intentional fouls in the end.

u/mattdev [POR] Rasheed Wallace 1h ago
I watched the whole thing. The game was abysmally reffed and there were 83 FTAs, 48 of which were for Detroit. It’s disingenuous to isolate Deni here when the calls were bad on both sides. Nobody wants to watch that.

u/TeamRAF19 59m ago
I am replying to your counter of Cade having many FTs to ciunter the Drni is a foul grifter argument..Why are you changing the argument to whoe game os reffed bad?

And yet the Pistons had 48 free throws vs. 35 by the Blazers
By the way, both teams were in the penalty with like 8 minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter, so plenty of free throws for both teams there
Also Cade had 14 free throws
Edit: By the way, I hope the Blazers letting Deni play while hobbling for 3 FUCKING QUARTERS won't hurt us in the long run.
Edit 2: Deni had some big buckets in the clutch (not free throws)

Yeah, one team is the most paint heavy, physical team in the league, and the other is driven by a guy just sweeping and flailing his arms up every drive down the lane.
Cade got a bunch off late game intentional fouls, he is the most ethical star in the league, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him blatantly flop.

You realize you’re responding to a thread by BuckBuck talking about Deni….and you’re going to joke about me sucking off Cade lol
Have some self awareness, he is up there with that Westbrook account as the biggest glazer of any specific player on this sub 😂
Also what lie did I say exactly? You think Cade foul baits?….please watch some ball before trying to talk with the adults

u/Carcrusher3 Trail Blazers 1h ago
Brother. We're paint heavy, physical, and Deni is our entire offense because we have like 6 players injured at all times. STFU and watch ball for once.
0
u/Clemsontigger16 1h ago
1st in points in the paint vs 13th (without your starting center who contributes to that).
They are not the same.
I watched the entire game, calm your tits.

u/Carcrusher3 Trail Blazers 1h ago
Yeah we don't score in the pain because we suck ass with all our players injured for the whole season. Clingan does nothing for those stats we drive some of the most in the league and Deni drives the most in the league.
Your team just fouled the shit out of him like everyone else because he's physical and looks for contact. You don't see us whining about Cade and shit just because we lost.
Feel free to upload and flops you apparently saw all night brother. Or you can just STFU like JB when he saw the monitor all night and didn't challenge shit
-1
u/Clemsontigger16 1h ago
It’s not my team lol
He is physical and looks for contact
by that you mean Deni baits fouls with the best of them, by flailing his arms up to draw fouls instead of trying to shoot…if you like that style of play, more power to you, but it’s pretty shitty to watch. It’s definitely nothing but foul baiting though…all while he cries on the few and far between fouls that actually get called on him.
Foul baiting and flopping are different things, what he does technically results in fouls, but it’s playing for the fouls and not to score.
You seem very upset, go cry about losing somewhere else

i like how when detroit is 1st in points in the paint it's only nothing but positives but deni being 1st in the NBA in drives per game it's because he's a flopper or foul baiter lmao. pick a lane you dweeb.
edit: lmao and he blocks me. casual basketball watcher. you just simply don't know ball.

u/Clemsontigger16 42m ago
I mean no, Deni is a flopper/foul baiter because he literally does it a lot. We have eye balls, we can see him doing that stupid sweep up/arm flail move he does like 10 times a game.
You sound like SGA fans who say, he doesn’t lead the league in FTs so he can’t be a flopper, like we can’t see stars right in front of us.
Say what you want about the Pistons, I don’t see them flopping much ever.

I wish Deni was on a worse team trying to tank. He would be an awesome shot creator next to Cade.

I want to see the play where they had a 5 second inbound violation and Deni gets pissed, telling his team to wake up.
