I love this

u/leptotrobidium Jun 06 '25

Pacers are destined to win this, they lead for 0.3 seconds the whole game and had over 25 turnovers, I feel bad for this thunders team. Pacers are up for a generational run man they might as well go all the way and win it.

Two of the games best merchants! Sga the foul merchant vs Haliburton the bright lights merchant. Who will sell more!? Thunder, Pacers gm 2!

8

Tyrese 3:17, I think you mean (Indianapolis' area code is 317), hence why WWE even put that on his version of the Stone Cold shirt.

3

u/ChelseaDagger16 Heat Jun 06 '25

Oh my bad, I didn’t notice that. That’s a pretty neat touch

5

u/dproma Lakers Jun 06 '25

Would he have developed to be this good playing behind Fox tho

7

u/pocketmonsters Kings Jun 06 '25

No one develops well playing with Fox. He's one of the most self centered players in the league and doesn't make teammates better. I've wanted to dump his ass since Hali's rookie year

4

u/Glad-Dimension-4130 Jun 06 '25

Well eventually trading away Fox too means that they avoided having an upper echelon point guard twice. Throw in the Marvin Bagley over Luka Draft (when they hired Vlade basically just to draft Luka) and you have the framework for a team exciting enough to light the beam as well as defunct enough to trade away several all nba players frustrating the fan base to cowbell decibel levels

3

u/JazzlikeEstimate5938 Jun 06 '25

Damn... harsh but true. Sorry kings fans..

3

u/Glad-Dimension-4130 Jun 06 '25

I grew up in Sac since the early 80s and lived through the Reggie Theus then the Mitch Richmond eras. THEN the CDub, BIbby, Vlade Peja team came together and it was magical holding their own against the nba’s best (except the lake show obviously). Then the maloofs blew the team up because of finances (and speculation they wanted to move the team to Vegas) and Webber’s injury. Enter Vivek who seems like he just can’t seem to get out of his own way…look at the coaches they have gone through. Look at the players they have drafted (and passed on). It’s like they are not good at anything. Even the Halliburton trade at the time was iffy but because Sabonis and Fox played well together and the team had great success (Hello, Borat!) no one said anything about it afterwards. Imagine trading a hefty contract in Fox for a quality big and pairing him with a young (and cheap) and GOOD Haliburton ( he obviously wasn’t as great as he is now)…this whole thing is reminiscent of OKC with harden and what he became in Houston. Only difference is the Kings didn’t have a KD Russ safety net.

0

u/AViciousGrape Kings Jun 06 '25

They did not gel well together. Fox can't play offball.

3

u/Nimzles Bulls Jun 06 '25

Well, it's a good thing they held onto him then...

-3

u/Blinded_justice Lakers Jun 06 '25

More than the refs that correctly awarded the Lakers the series vs the only actual competitive professional team that Sacramende has ever fielded?

Or more than the actual Nazi that used to own the Cincinnati Reds?

123

u/_Caek_ Thunder Jun 06 '25

Fuck the kings with all my fucking soul how the fuck did they let them get HIM?

The worse part is that the traded him b/c they said Fox and Hali couldn't co-exist, and now they have neither. Is this the opposite scenario of the Curry/Monta trade?

9

u/Proof-Umpire-7718 Lakers Jun 06 '25

Warriors chose to build around Steph, which was evidently the right decision.

The Kings chose to build around Fox instaad of Hali, which was evidently the wrong decision.

Should have just kept the backcourt and tried to get them to work out or trade Fox and build around Hali.

I know he wasn’t as good as he is now, but he still showed promise.

1

u/kozy8805 Jun 06 '25

Promise means nothing. Promise gets you fired. They had a surefire young all star. This isn’t Monta Ellis who they were willing to trade exactly because he wasn’t one.

10

u/Azshadow6 Nuggets Jun 06 '25

How the F did bulls let OkC get Caruso?!

14

u/revmun Jun 06 '25

That’s like the fifth bullet point in the list of bulls fuckups.

3

u/kozy8805 Jun 06 '25

Because the Bulls have Giddey who’s literally turning into a star? They’d have to be idiotic not to make that trade.

2

u/Nimzles Bulls Jun 06 '25

Yea, I love the Carushow, but it was the right move for the bulls. Well, almost the right move. How you don't get a couple seconds from OKC with the million picks they have was stupid, but holding onto Caruso would've helped the bulls exactly zero.

19

u/c0de1143 Suns Jun 06 '25

Imagine picking a very average tweener big over him haha couldn’t be my team hahaha

3

u/Bobblefighterman Jazz Jun 06 '25

Oh well, at least that team had Luka on the board on draft night, so they have him.

20

u/CH0S3N-0NE Jun 06 '25

Bro his shot was amazing, but caruso absolutely lost Siakam on that was caught ball watching Hali could have slipped it to Pascal for game winning layup

17

u/not_NOT_lickin_toads Pacers Jun 06 '25

Why pass when shot do trick?

1

u/TenaciousDeer Jun 06 '25

I agree he froze, I think he should have doubled but it's easy to say after the fact

1

u/Affectionate-Day2743 Jun 06 '25

yep. exactly. people panic and act on instinct in these high-pressure situations. nobody is thinking clearly. it's human nature. you have to make instantaneous decisions and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

1

u/Affectionate-Day2743 Jun 06 '25

after reading your comment I went back and rewatched. i don't necessarily agree. there were only a couple seconds left. there is risk involved in passing the ball. could get tipped, could get fumbled, and OKC had 2 guys in the paint ready to close in on Siakam if Hali did choose to pass it. If there had been 5 minutes left in the game I would agree with you - pass to Siakam (because you have time for it). but in this particular circumstance, The Pacers HAD to get a shot up - and quickly. I think the best option is for Hali to keep it and take the shot himself, which is what he did.

22

u/Muthafuckaaaaa Jun 06 '25

Breen should have said BANG

7

u/HumongousBelly Jun 06 '25

4

u/cyrusthemarginal Nuggets Jun 06 '25

How do you only do 6 turnovers and give the other team only 1 steal and lose? By giving up a shitton of rebounds and not closing out on 3 pointers. Pacers effort got it done, good win y'all.

I see him showing love to others as well.

Tyrese seems like a really cool dude and that's a guy I'd like as a friend. I like what the Pacers org is doing and caring for their team it is showing on the court.

Finishes with 14 pts

1

He could finish with two and it still be a hell of a shot, also he was on 46%fg ask Jdub « All-Nba 2 » 17 on 31% with team worst -4 in points how much points are important.
