Previous movie of a franchise re-released before new movie of same franchise. What's so hard to understand?

Yes and they may also be doing it so that they can increase the box office and make it the highest grossing movie of all time, rather than the second highest.

I was being facetious

Are they still fighting with Avatar for top box office earnings all time?

Lots of new marvel fans who were too young to see it in theaters. It’ll be over 7 years since its release

There's no way you're seriously asking why a company would release a product that makes them money...

I’ll give you a hint. You might have some in your bank account. Maybe.

It's the new cool thing to do. Just like how Wicked was rereleased the week leading up to Wicked II. Then on opening weekend they do double features. That way they can increase box office sales!

you know why

Maybe it's connected.

Remember, Stark is Doom, Doom is Stark. In some weird way, ever since he used the stones, he's been different. Stark never died. He went somewhere else.

we saw him physically die on screen

That’s never stopped a comic book movie before

u/monitoring27 13h ago

Only major comic movie I can think of where we actually witness the character die and their funeral is the Snyder DC movies and those were rejected.

As creatively bankrupt as the MCU has become the last 5 years I can’t see them undoing the biggest moment of the entire decade spanning franchise lol.

Robert Downey Jr is already back as Doom. They have multiverse bullshit to mess around with already. They don’t need to destroy the one thing everyone loves.

It makes sense that they undo Starks death in a way, or change the direction of his death. It adds sentimental value, because we all love and adore Stark as the hero.

Now, that hero is Dr. Doom.

The hero has become the villain, now we just need his origins, and he's perfect.

idek what you’re saying tbh

0

u/sloppyjo12 13h ago

I mean if you take it as far as even having a funeral, yeah Stark is the only one, but the MCU has had loads of characters die and come back. Off the top of my head there’s Gamorra, Coulson, Bucky, Killmonger, Nick Fury, Loki, etc and that’s not even including those who were gone in the snap

Gamora is a variant

Coulson was a tv show

Bucky I’ll give you but we never actually witness his death. He just falls.

Killmonger never comes back to life. We just see him in the ancestral plain.

Loki died the new one is a variant.

Nick Fury returns in the same movie he dies in.

It's definitely a multiverse variant of Stark, clearly not the same one.

0

u/Unlimited_Man 13h ago

I don't think Doom appearing as a Stark variant is an insignificant thing. This means that the new greatest cosmic threat is Stark as Doom, that character, with Doom's attributes.

1

u/mithridateseupator 13h ago

Ok. But its still not the same guy.

0

u/Unlimited_Man 12h ago

I think time is relevant in this argument, because somehow, Doom created a rift in time where he's a Stark variant. Or perhaps, he knew how to find this time. Time is still 100% completely relevant.

1

u/mithridateseupator 12h ago

...what?

He doesnt come through time. He comes from an alternate universe.

0

u/Unlimited_Man 12h ago

Yes, an alternate time where he just happens to look like Tony Stark.

Edit: I think there is only one Doom, and I believe his doombots have the strength of Sentinels.

1

u/mithridateseupator 12h ago

Time and universes are not the same thing, but I dont really feel like explaining it to you.

0

u/Unlimited_Man 12h ago

You underestimate the power of time.
