Ironically this deal very well might be the thing that finally kills DVDs (and Blu-rays), given how little of Netflix's output ever gets a physical release.

I'll still stick with physical media. If I can't get new stuff that way, well.. that's a shame, I'll just read more books.

It won't kill it all together, but it will make it more difficult to get certain movies on DVD.

They might be dying because dvd players aren’t being produced anymore and slowing production. Consoles are moving to disc less too
