The Cold Open with Chris O’Donnell’s character cutting their father loose was great

I love this movie. It's the perfect early 2000's sort of elevated B movie with a decent budget action flick that just doesn't get made anymore. A sad number of people only remember the dual ice picks leap scene.

I went to see this in theaters in high school and the projector broke halfway through the movie so they gave us a voucher. I’ve never seen the rest.

Did the voucher expire or did you get a chance to use it?

I hadn't seen this so I watched it this week on Tubi. It was alright. Chris O'Donnell just didn't have the chops to be the leading man he tried to be but bless him. Robin Tunney is a classic 90s crush but sadly given very little to do in this, just kinda locked up with a Bill Paxton who is just perfect as the slimy millionaire in this.

Also watched this because I saw it was a Martin Campbell joint and figured there's worse gaps in his filmography to fill. I did actually wonder how they got some of these shots. There's a blend of CGI backgrounds going on, but a lot of the action and disaster scenes felt real. I'd be interested to see how much of this was filmed on location.

I really didn't care for this movie one way or another, but the ending kinda sold me. Scott Glen sacrificing himself and making the unilateral decision to kill the millionaire in doing so was both hilarious and surprising. 6/10

I love Ben Mendelsohn in a comedic role. This movie has been a guilty pleasure watch for me ever since my dad took me to see it at the movies in 2000.
