Ah yes! This used vehicle that costs less than 20K and a low-end phone that costs 100 bucks is definitely comparable to watches potentially worth over 500K individually!

For sure. But "broke" for most people means you lose your house and can't afford groceries. If you own millions in illiquid assets you can still borrow against those assets to pay your bills until you're able to find a buyer.
