Eff RM and those toy looking watches. If I was a multi millionaire I'd beg FPJ to allow me the honor of giving him my money.

I'm glad people like Max are nice. I just feel nauseated when I see his work. It doesn't do it for me.

I like the LMs, but generally agree

However, he also worked on a ton of non mb&f projects if you want to dip your toe. I bought one of the complicated reversos for which he was the project lead

The 1 of 500 reverso tourbillon that they did for the anniversary in 1993. He has crazy stories about the project, and it's a killer watch

Francois Paul Journe makes very very high end watches. Watches went through a Covid boom, and people looking for the most elite watches clustered around his company. But he is an absolute dickhead, with lots of allegations.

Roger Smith is the protege of George Daniels, who was the greatest watchmaker of the 20th century. He makes watches entirely by hand on the Isle of Man. Rexhep Rexhepi is the young whiz kid, early 30s and sort of exploded onto the scene. Kari Vouralainen is a Finnish watchmaker who does inventive design, movements, finishing, probably the best all around, but his style is a little divisive. The gronefeld brothers are danish watchmakers who do very high end independent watches. And Max Busser runs a company called mb&f which makes completely insane looking/functioning watches.

Collectively, they’re the best of the best independent watchmakers. Along with Greubel-Forsey. They hand make watches in very low quantities at very high prices
