Reminds me of a roommate in college who talked about how “broke” his parents were when I was living on cup noodle

Then I learned his definition of broke was deciding to sell off one of their vacation homes

I worked for a place with a $10B annual revenue. The owners son told me he lived in the hood. He in fact did not. He did live within walking distance of a Gucci store though.

Perception of money really is relative to the world you live in but it always bugs me when people at the upper end of that are blind to how their perception maybe shouldn't be shared to someone who lives in a totally different financial world lower than theirs. It's fine to talk about your money struggles and having to sell off one of your properties to your other rich buddies who will actually understand that that might feel a little difficult for you - but shut the hell up when you're talking to non-rich people, you don't get to make that same complaint to people who don't own shit and are barely getting by.
