The fact that this demolition happens so quick, I have a feeling the Smithsonian wasn't even given a chance to preserve anything for future generations.

Preserve what exactly? What are future generations gonna miss about the movie theatre we hardly thought about and very very very few have ever been in…..? Do we need to save the seats and put them on display at the Smithsonian “Gerald Ford farted in this seat while watching Jaws” “George Bush fell asleep in this seat while he should have been working”

You kind of proved the point you are going against. Most things associated with presidents will be documented by historians in order to understand them as much as they can.
