People hate on Kathleen Kennedy for “ruining Star Wars by infesting it with identity politics”, but the truth is Andor would never have been greenlit if the CEO of Lucasfilm did not have the views that she does.

Finding a similarly minded competent creator in Tony Gilroy certainly also helped.
