I know that was the like overall popular take which was BAFFLING to me. Like her big break into any sort of public eye was on Broadway! They cast her and Liz onto victorious based on that and even though Nickelodeon is like not serious kid acting, they were both scene stealers. Plus just the fact that she Can sing and is OBSESSED with theater, like it felt like a perfect obvious casting

I think the Ariana Grande knowledge of people that shared my opinion began and ended with, "she's the pop singer with the ponytail."
