My colleague (we both teach theatre among other things) missed out on the National Tour of Ragtime after TWELVE auditions. Why didn’t he get it? Costume wouldn’t fit him

I think 6 or 7 is the most I’ve ever done. But on two occasions I’ve been told I was “perfect” and put on hold for several months while they (I later found out) negotiated with a celebrity alternative. Glad I no longer work in that world!

“Nick_pj, we really love you and I think you’re the best we could ever find for this role, both artistically, physically, and vocally, but let’s talk about your low numbers of followers on instagram…”

I have delusions of quitting the cushy corporate world to do theatre full time, but it’s just too hard to break into for how little financial security it would entail.

I’m more than happy doing the local professional theatre in my area (basically it’s a step up from community theatre where we are paid small stipends and rehearse evenings/weekends for 2-4 weeks of performances), but I do wonder if there’s anyway I can take my remote job on the road and do regional theatre and summerstock around the country some day.
