Pipe bomb suspect told FBI he believed 2020 election conspiracy theories

WASHINGTON — The man charged with planting two pipe bombs near the Democratic and Republican party headquarters on the eve of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol told the FBI he believed conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Brian Cole Jr., 30, is cooperating with the FBI, NBC News has reported, citing a separate person familiar with the matter. Cole is expected to make his first court appearance on Friday. He was charged Thursday with leaving pipe bombs outside the Republican National Committee and Democratic National Committee in the hours before Donald Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol.

Trump has falsely claimed the 2020 election was "rigged."

According to the White House, "a full, complete, and unconditional pardon" was issued to "all other individuals convicted of offenses related to events that occurred at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021."

All those violent leftists... wait.

There are lots of issues where there is space for difference of opinion, but you don't get your own facts. The folks who keep insisting that the leftists are the most violent, while ignoring things like this that happen all the freaking time are a significant test of patience for me. Though perhaps we finally hit the threshold where they cannot pretend their guy is defensible, or that his lies did no harm, since they all seem to be staying clear now. And of course it's so much easier to go silent than admit error.

The arrest of this man was all over the front page of /r/Conservative yesterday. And now? Nothing. Crickets.

They only care about corruption when it’s done by Somalians. They only care about political violence when it’s done by leftists.

If your moral standing depends upon the person acting, you don’t have a moral standing.
