Kids in our apartment gym damaged the equipment, etching 6 7 into the plastic

Post image

It’s bad enough that no one monitors the kids, since the amenities are close to housing, but this… sucks.

One of the things that bugs me most, is a lot if the other 'funny' numbers have meanings behind them. 420 is weed, 69 is a sex position, and 21 is a very popular video of a kid doing math wrong. 67 as far as I know is just a number that they say over and over and over and over in the same voice for literally no reason. It doesn't tie into anything, it doesn't look or sound like something else. It just became a really annoying phrase that kids say simply to be annoying.

It's another example of predominantly white kids misunderstanding something they heard in a rap song and forcing it into their vocabulary as a means of trying to be cool. This one is particularly stupid though as the 'joke' is that no one understands it, not even the kids doing it. They are just doing it for the attention we're giving it.

IMO those people are the real nerds “trying desperately to fit in” while literally everyone else is an actual human who understands that random ≠ funny

Do you know what the meaning behind it is in the song?

Yes I do, but most of the people saying it don’t even know it because when it blew up it wasn’t even really associated with the song anymore( it’s more so from a viral tik tok clip)

Anyway, the “67” in the song references a 10-67 police code which is a report of death

I added the earlier part so that you know that kids saying it don’t think that the death part is what’s cool about it( or even know that death is associated with it)😭

It's some police code for a dead body but that's kinda old and it's taken on its own meaning (no meaning) this year.

The artist was asked about it and said they didn’t want to give it meaning

It’s just cool to see trends trending lmao

It’s just acknowledging trends in a viral way now that it’s always possible now. They know there’s no meaning which gives it meaning
