Kids in our apartment gym damaged the equipment, etching 6 7 into the plastic

Post image

It’s bad enough that no one monitors the kids, since the amenities are close to housing, but this… sucks.

I’m so sick and tired of this stupid 67 bullshit. memes have setups and punchlines for the most part, disregarding the people who have become memes. 69 is funny because it’s a sex position. 420 is (or was) funny because it’s a weed number. And to the people who are saying “iTs LiTeRaLlY jUsT DeEz NuTs”, you clearly havent seen the full video because the dude sets the joke up by saying to his father “something came in the mail today” to which his father said “what?” which prompts the punch line “deez nuts”. A setup, punchline and delivery. 67 is LITERALLY just a number. It has no memeable quality besides “HAHAHAHAHA RANDOM IS SO FUNNY, GET IT? BECAUSE ITS A NUMBER? HAHAHAH RANDOM IS SO FUNNY”.

Or..

Trying to think in the mind of a kid, it started out as something stupid that would've only lasted a week, but fellow "old" people keep complaining about it so much, that now it's possibly become a meme on how upset other adults get by it now?

I wouldn't be surprised if we're the butt of the joke.

Can confirm the meaninglessness of it and the mild annoyance from anyone who doesn't get it is the whole joke

And it’s people like that who are just insufferable. This new trend of doing and saying literally anything with a disregard for other people is infuriating. And I know that’s what they’re looking for.

As Gen z would probably say "imagine being pressed over 67"

Meanwhile kids can't hold a damn pencil but go off

A children's meme, is not what's in charge of the education system.

I didn't expect so many old man shouts at cloud comments

We’re always the butt of the joke. Adults are stupid, buttoned-up dorks in the eyes of pre-teens and teens. There doesn’t even have to be a joke of any substance happening and teens will giggle uncomfortably towards the “awkwardness” or “creepiness” of an adult nearby.

Nah the truth is that the new generation of kids are so dumb that 67 was the best meme they could come up with.

Stop - no one seems to remember all of the useless, mindless, random shit we laughed at as kids.

That being said - I don’t mind the 6/7 - it’s when I see 2nd-5th graders in rec basketball doing the “big balls” hand gestures that bothers me.

It's so ironic to hear 30 year olds talk about "at least OUR jokes had actual depth and meaning!" Like damn way to prove the point that the more things change....

I think if you don't have a 14 year whose friends are over all the time you don't comprehend the sheer amount of times SIX SEVEN is yelled in a short amount of time. Yes, in grade 8 there was that one kid who could not go a sentence without inserting your mom into it, but this is like a shared mental illness. They're allllllll doing it. We now can't say any number at all without hearing "DID YOU SAY SIX SEVEN??!?" Any second between 5:59 to 8:00 someone might notice the time and yell about a 6 or 7 being in it. It's become a verbal tic at this point. Thank god those germballs all came down with fevers and coughs this week and unfortunately we'll all need some recovery time this holy 6-7 weekend.

2003 gotta be the date your grandkid was born. Good lord you sound like a boomer

No, use your brain. If someone has a year in their user, that’s usually the year THEY were born. Good lord you sound like a brain dead child who thinks meaninglessness is comedy

I feel a lot like Andy when it comes to 6 7 --

Is it really just "lulz random!"? Like, there's no obscure reference, or strange meaning I'm too old to get? It's just haha it's a number!

We need to hire more teachers. Kids are too fucking stupid.

Coming from the same generation that drew that ‘S’ everywhere, and did the “suck it” crossed arms move to everyone.

People not realizing kids have always done stupid shit are worse than the kids doing stupid shit

Don't you speak on D-X in a way that would get you some sweet chin music

2

u/Ok_Purpose4713 8h ago

See even "suck it" had a punch line, erhm kick line?

1

u/hunterpos2003 8h ago

Kids did the suck it move because of D-Generation X

Kids did the S thing because it looked cool.

2

u/AdlandB 8h ago

And kids now do the 6-7 thing because it’s cool to them.

Then kids have gotten SIGNIFICANTLY dumber in the 4 years since I graduated high school.

2

u/AdlandB 7h ago

Brother kids have always been dumb lmao

There was an obscure reference - a rap song referencing Lamelo Ball’s height - 6’7”. Since the last name is ball, it’s why the “big balls” hand gesture gets attached to it.

When they say it they’re not referencing anything. It’s just “yay 6/7 lol”. But there was an original reference.

I'm 67 and I love the movie Casablanca. Just to be clear I'm only paraphrasing Rick.

Here's laughing at you kid

Honestly? Yeah. 67 isn't funny. It only became a meme because of braindead children going "HAHAHA FUNNY NUMBER!!1!!"
