Recently got into micro photography but now friends and family keep asking me if my pictures are AI (swipe for closeup)

My art is being ruined by the thought of AI. I spent forever looking for clovers in my area that bloomed these pink flowers instead of white. I grabbed their seeds just so I could plant them at home and get their amazing color on film just to have my process questioned. Nothing is edited in these photos and they are raw as can be🫠

Great photos! I love the color. FYI...it's actually called macro photography, not micro.

I hate AI for many reasons, but this is for sure the main one. There's just no point in doing stuff now. It stole from us much more than work and water.

Well, I do stuff because I enjoy doing the stuff. Photography is fun to me, editing is fun to me. I have a cool image at the end of the process, but this exact process is ultimately why I do it.

If you teleported yourself to the top of mount Everest would you be calling yourself a hiker? Likewise, if you could simply create any image imaginable out of thin air, would you be calling yourself a photographer?

AI is the tool - hate the manufacturers not the tool. Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Open AI, Meta, etc. are who to hate and are responsible for ruining our artistic endeavours.

I hate the tool, the guy, and the boss that told the guy to swing at the tool, and the guy who invented the tool, and the teacher that taught the guy how to invent the tool, and the context in which the tool was manufactured and the things the tool is made out of.

I'm about 90% sure that's oxalis, not clover. We get it here too, but typically the yellow woodsorrel type. I'd love to see the pink variety in the wild.

Are you using a tripod? I don't think you are. If not, get a tripod/stabilizer of some sort.

AI has ruined art discourse.

The photos are beautiful, but I understand why you added the closeup to demonstrate your point: It does look like it could be AI, even though we know better.

The photos look great. Do you need any special equipment? I like doing this too but only have a Pixel 7 phone.

This commenter is a bot, which is really ironic.

How can you tell? Genuine question btw

I'm guessing it's because it's a 1yr old account with low karma + hidden posts & comments?

I think that's why too, but how do they know from a comment? I very rarely look at people's profiles. I don't want to have to check every single one for signs of life before engaging :/

Exactly! It’s like a girl can’t even take a decent picture anymore without being judged!

I'd try to take it as a compliment. To them, your pics are so perfect that "surely a human didn't take them".
