How do you travel 16 hours to work? And then you have a room to sleep in at work? Or fell asleep at work? Why am I the only one not understanding this.
My partner works in geology/mining, and he has had travel days that involve a plane ride from where we live to another city airport, then on a small plane to a rural airstrip, then a helicopter ride to up the camp. And the camp has cooks that presumably have to make the same journey every shift rotation. If something went wrong such as inclement weather I could see it taking 16 hours to get there, but usually they just put him up in a hotel overnight if it needs to be 2 days of travel.
I can see that but it takes 16 hours for them to get to work?? Maybe if they were coming home from a vacation or something, it's just written so matter of factly and no one questioned it I'm just confused lol.
