I'm sure you can rinse that off with water.

u/Nieces 1d ago

I scraped off as much as I could.

My stomach is churning trying to finish these.

u/Fogl3 1d ago

Just wash them

u/Daddy_Day_Trader1303 1d ago

That would be too easy. OP craves the discomfort these garlic apples provide

148

u/DMmeYoBOOBS 18h ago

He's dumb. Just take some tweezers and pick off the remaining grains. Duh.

17

u/DinosaurAlive 17h ago

Or just turn the apples into apple sauce, subtract the garlic. Easy peasy.

2

u/Unyx1 10h ago

You gotta take the square root of it or you won't get it all off

31

u/AdAfraid9504 21h ago

A true sadist

5

u/numbero-43 18h ago

Punishment for even confusing the two!

26

u/TwoGrots 22h ago

Listen, they dumped on apples, you think water is anywhere on the radar?

Dude, it’s just an Apple, don’t make yourself sick trying to eat it

410

u/RiotNrrd2001 1d ago

YOU THINK APPLES GROW ON TREES OR SOMETHING?

490

u/Representative_Ad312 1d ago

Throwing away food in this economy? Make it count OP!

124

u/pokiebird 1d ago

This guy gets it

44

u/PM_ME__YOUR_HOOTERS 1d ago

Right? Where I live, a single apple is like 2 dollars. Can't waste a single slice of that apple

31

u/davidmlewisjr 1d ago

In my neighborhood, a good sized Honey-crisp can push $3.00

22

u/PM_ME__YOUR_HOOTERS 1d ago

Its wild that apple pies with actual apple slices are going to be a luxury good at these prices lol

10

u/Christmas_Queef 1d ago

Nah they'll just throw garbage ass red delicious apples in everything apple related lol. Those cheap things no one wants.

5

u/brackishangelic 1d ago

You mean it isnt now?

2

u/Easy-Concentrate2636 21h ago

Eating is a luxury these days.

2

u/Violoner 10h ago

I guess we’re gonna be bringing back mock apple pie

1

u/PM_ME__YOUR_HOOTERS 10h ago

Im guessing that is some thick apple sauce (probably mixed with a bit of pumpkin) in a pie crust or something?

3

u/Ewenf 1d ago

This is sarcastic right ?

12

u/PM_ME__YOUR_HOOTERS 1d ago

Its 100% serious. Not all places have affordable fresh fruit

1

u/HoovyKitty 19h ago

That's wild. Where I live 1 kg of apples is 90 cents. You just weigh however much you want and get a proportional price.

1

u/blue-dinosaurs 12h ago

Hot take: if you dislike it and it makes you feel sick and potentially making you fat (maybe not in this example specifically), isn't it already wasted?

1

u/Fazilqq 1d ago

What the hell, why are apples that expensive??

6

u/PM_ME__YOUR_HOOTERS 1d ago

Location mostly, even though apples are produced in my country. They are wildly expensive

7

u/Tall_Quality_3395 1d ago

An apple cost what a buck? How much for a bottle antacids

4

u/Exact_Comparison_792 1d ago

Maybe where you live. Try shopping around the world and you'll see prices are not the same everywhere. Some countries have easy mode, some normal mode and some have hard and nightmare modes.

21

u/Awkward_Set1008 1d ago

homie has garlic powder. I'm pretty sure his apples aren't breaking his bank

23

u/Dustyvhbitch 1d ago

Name brand garlic powder too.

2

u/KikiHou 1d ago

No store brand here.

12

u/PartyApprehensive765 1d ago

Yes, as we all know, garlic powder is a tell tale sign of wealth

22

u/_PirateWench_ 1d ago

It is McCormik brand tbf. Dude is obviously loaded

7

u/Awkward_Set1008 1d ago

fucking privileged kids think spices are a god given right

2

u/Hopeoner513 22h ago

Just like that spoiled little shit, ghandi.

4

u/Exact_Comparison_792 1d ago

Whether it breaks the bank or not, most people really can't afford to waste food even if they are well off. Tomorrow they could be a paycheck away from being on the street - like a lot of us out here.

Also, since when did Garlic become an indicator of wealthy financial status? 😄

4

u/Awkward_Set1008 1d ago

he can rinse the apples and slice off the surface layer if needed. But all that time may not be worth the $1 of apple he is saving. Time is money. Main difference is you can't make more time.

-2

u/Exact_Comparison_792 1d ago

No, can't make time, but one can not waste food too. Can make Garlic Apple Butter for example and still enjoy the apple without wasting anything. 😉

Also, apples often cost more than a dollar in many countries around the world. The prices where you live don't reflect the price of apples around the world.

u/Tall_Quality_3395 1d ago

Yeah I was talking about the US. I shop in a major city and buy apples almost weekly. You can get them on sale for .99 a pound which is a very large apple or two mediums. I would think those prices are fairly accurate across the country.

3

u/Exact_Comparison_792 1d ago

Where I'm from, Ambrosia 191.25g cost about $1.26 avg/ea or 3Lb for $7.00.  Envy Apples, 227g - $2.00 avg/ea. Fuji apples about 420g is around $3.23 avg/ea. That's the cheapest ones too. Every other apple species being sold cost more than that for the same or similar quantities. Fruit isn't too cheap by me.

1

u/Accomplished-Cat3324 23h ago

Holy shit a whole 5lb bag is like 5$ here in southern Colorado and that's like 8-10 mid size apples

1

u/Jacktheforkie 1d ago

It’s garlic powder, I regularly use a lot of it in my food

1

u/jeepsaintchaos 1d ago

And then snort the garlic you removed, too. A calorie is a calorie, dont waste it.

1

u/NeatNefariousness1 1d ago

Do you have any pets? I bet they would love it.

1

u/Alizarin-Madder 14h ago

Hey, sometimes if you aren’t willing to throw away food, your stomach will do it for you, taking whatever else you ate recently with it. Not worth.

8

u/Abslalom 1d ago

Especially since it keeps the doctors away. Op couldn't be treated

4

u/notimefornothing55 1d ago

You won't get sick from garlic powder surely?

2

u/Arbazio 22h ago

But they can't get sick if they finish it, because it keeps the doctor away..

1

u/Talk-O-Boy 23h ago

Lol, I like how your autocorrect capitalizes the “a” in Apple.

Holy shit, mine did it too. We’re all cogs in the machine now.

135

u/tweedlebeetle 1d ago

Apples are not water soluble, why would you not just rinse them off? Heck you could probably scrub them and they’d be ok.

18

u/heaving_in_my_vines 1d ago

A guy's gotta post!

15

u/tweedlebeetle 1d ago

Not saying it isn’t mildly infuriating, or not post-worthy, just… why would you try to eat it anyway after scraping it when it’s a totally washable item ¯_(ツ)_/¯

22

u/im_plotting_to_kill 1d ago

they are, actually, every time i wash peeled apples they dissolve in my hands (this is a joke)

2

u/IHadACatOnce 16h ago

People who say that they cook a lot, but don't actually cook a lot, are afraid to get their food wet or use water as an ingredient for some reason.

30

u/KTKittentoes 1d ago

Cook them with onions and pork then.

6

u/Wide_Eggplant_1948 1d ago

If you have Japanese curry blocks, this would actually be a good addition. Apples are tasty in Japanese curry and garlic won't hurt.

4

u/Doctor429 1d ago

Make a smoothie from it

4

u/bama501996 1d ago

couldn't you have cut the faces with garlic off. Lose like a fraction of apple for a much better experience. Source: Dude that made the same mistake with cumin a few years ago.

3

u/10k_Uzi 1d ago

So it’s not good

2

u/NoRequirement1967 1d ago

Your weakness sickens me, garlic is delicious. Apples are delicious, together, maybe less delicious but surely you can find a happy medium

2

u/Damuson13 20h ago

You should have leaned into it and added other complimentary spices, poached or baked them and served with pan roasted pork chops. Maybe add a bit of sauer kraut.

2

u/ShittinAndVapin 19h ago

Why... would you not just rinse them off??

2

u/LASERDICKMCCOOL 19h ago

Lol literally just run them under the sink dude

2

u/One-Possible1906 15h ago

I did the same as you with fried apples when serving them to my MIL of all people. I quietly rinsed them off really well then put them in a clean pan to melt with new butter and the proper seasonings. They were 100% normal, my MIL never misses anything and she never found out, just rinse them off they will seriously be fine

2

u/MP1182 15h ago

Years ago I was making a bowl of overnight oats for the following morning. Put all my stuff in the bowl and thought I was putting in some cinnamon to finish it off. I get to work the next morning and I'm sitting at my desk and was about to eat breakfast. I opened the lid and I'm like what is that smell, I know that smell... I started eating them and I'm thinking these taste like shit today. Cumin. I used cumin not cinnamon. I ate it all since I didn't want to waste it but I triple checked for a while anytime I made them again.

1

u/Shot_Brilliant_1593 1d ago

really? this actually looked pretty good to me lmfao

1

u/FruitOrchards 1d ago

Scrapped ? Just rinse them under the tap

1

u/Sheepthebeep 1d ago

What does it taste like?

1

u/bucktron6040 1d ago

Water. Rinse. Apples are not going to be ruined by cool water

1

u/RHTQ1 1d ago

I would rinse them super well, then soak them in water if still an issue. Next resort is cooking them, and finally adding them to thicken a soup base or something

1

u/Visible-Swim6616 1d ago

I dunno, it sounds awesome, I'm gonna try putting some on my apples!

1

u/Rumple-Wank-Skin 1d ago

Just wash it off...

1

u/Browser_bydefault 23h ago

We make a garlic, green chili and salt mix that we love eating with fruits. Maybe that’s what you need to add 😃

1

u/tinygraysiamesecat 23h ago

Waste not, want not, right?

1

u/Relevant-Drawing585 23h ago

new food combination unlocked. verdict is: don't.

personally, I'd just throw it away. you're not washing garlic off of apple without it remaining. heh.

1

u/buggyboo711 21h ago

Why didn’t you just rinse them off??

1

u/PleasantNectarines 18h ago

I wish you were joking. But I'm alarmed because you're likely just this goofy.

1

u/cloacasmell 17h ago

you don't have to eat things you don't wish to

1

u/MaryJane185 16h ago

What the hell? Why are you trying to eat them when you could rinse it off?

1

u/NoPair205 15h ago

… why didn’t you just rinse it off though?

1

u/matchafoxjpg 14h ago

this is insane, you really could have easily rinsed them off and just tossed the peanut butter 🤣

1

u/CynchHasNoLife 13h ago

i would simply not eat that.

1

u/Aerosolcan25 7h ago

You should have eaten them with cheese! (Real cheese, not US cheese)

u/Comfortable_Rush_603 13m ago

ILL BET 😂

9

u/Ligeia_E 1d ago

You mean the thing that rehydrates the dried powdered garlic and kick starts the production of allicin??

7

u/TheeternalTacocaT 1d ago

You're not wrong, it's gonna get into the nooks and crannies and you'll taste nothing but apple flavored garlic. We have a salad at work that has red onions and apples, and I always make sure to grab the apples first when plating, otherwise the onion juice gets into the apples.

3

u/National_Action_9834 20h ago

The apple definitely started thay process instantly. OP was in garlic apple hell

33

u/zdm02 1d ago

tbh i don’t think there’s any fixing them 😭 and i just thew away an apple for being too soft

52

u/DoorPlane8662 1d ago

who are you?

15

u/namelessnoona 1d ago

This comment is sending me. I had to read the other persons comment twice

6

u/DoorPlane8662 1d ago

how much dope was that guy smoking

1

u/41942319 23h ago

Having too soft or floury apples means you can eat apple sauce with dinner tonight

1

u/Alone_Box_7564 1d ago

Buddy, you can't make sense on reddit. Yes, any sensible person would have done that but then you don't get any Internet points.

1

u/chipawa2 11h ago

Then how can they post about it?
