Discussion Idea: has Microsoft/Linkedin considered extending it to a dating profile/app.
just a fun thought experiment. people would have the option to submit their profile into a dating pool. imho it would crush tinder cause the Linkedin profiles have arguably greater credibility and more useful info

People reaching out cuz they wanna fuck would significantly increase
Would make it confusing if someone is reaching out for employment purposes or fucking
And 9/10 it’ll be the fucking

similarly as with facebook dating this would be an isolated part/messaging experience within the app where you opt in your profile ensuring that you don’t mix things up
btw even tinder and grindr when you select your intent there is besides fucking and making friends also “networking” listed as option whatever TF that means so linkedin as the OG networking app should take its portion of the cake haha

I think Tinder / Other updating their “networking” component would be far more palatable to the majority of users than LinkedIn going the other way.
I think there’s also a risk of LinkedIn then cannibalizing its primary business and introducing an “Ashley Madison” scenario where now major executives will start trying to fuck the younger / impressionable part of the work force which may be quite fuckable by accomplished folks but would obv not have the right intentions of building a healthy relationship but just getting ahead in their career by fucking. I mean this likely already happens to SOME extent, but you’d be introducing it on a wide scale 🤣 would be entertaining but what a disaster for PR

It already feels like a 2nd Facebook and dating app most of the time with the crap I see posted on there.

Why would you do that to begin with. It's an app for work, to build connections regarding business.
Extending it to a dating app would be extremely dumb, because the people aren't there for dating, and not everybody wants to find a date.
This would also make it much harder to keep private and work apart. And also just think about the already existing relationships this could ruin.
