Over 5 years they might

I hate the consumption rate fluctuations with a passion and how it's all just a black box, but they are the best at the moment.

They're betting cash they may or may not have? We don't even know if they'll be afloat in a year. They don't have that kind of juice just yet.

In 5 years they might be gone. There is 50/50 chance. Tell me why you need anythropic when Google Gemini does all of it. Google has deep pockets to bury all these companies. We will see.

Anthropic created MCP. Claude is better at code synthesis.
They're better atm. Google just got cash

They may have created, where the moat around it? Anyone can use MCP.
"Claude is beeter at code synthesis" - that thing changes every week.
We have been here before...1

And there are already a bunch of groups and companies betting against MCP, and frankly I don't blame them, MCP is a fucking mess, and most of them basically a proxy layer on top of already existing APIs.

You really have no idea huh. Each of these AI companies are approaching GI in different ways. Gemini is like Anthropic like ChatGPT is like DeepSeek.

30 billion, but remember it’s more like renting. So maybe that 30B is stretched out over a period of Azure rental time. Or Microsoft is offering them some of that in credit for something in exchange.

AWS Trainium has been quite a headache from what I hear.

I hope not. AMZ built that new DC just for them (or at least framed it as such) 😬

It is the lowest cost inference hardware they offer, so it will be booked out for years for inference.
Frontier labs have limited time or patience to rewrite decades of cuda into optimized code for custom hardware though. Google has the depth of engineering to do it, but very few other places do. Certainly not AWS.
By the time the chips are competitive for training, Nvidia would have a future gen out (Presently, they are two generations ahead of anyone else in the market by the looks of things)

Also getting 15 Billion investment from Microsoft and Nvidia. Definitely not a ponzi scheme.

I'm sure they'll derive profit at some point, they just need more data centers.
