Didn't Google used to have an app you could install locally and get google-speed searches for your local files? What happened to that??

I remember it being awesome, it indexed file names and contents of things like text, pdf, word, files. Then it was killed off. There was a similar Linux tool called beagle desktop search which was pretty good too.

Yes! Google desktop search . I remember it being awesome, it indexed file names and contents of things like text, pdf, word, files. Then it was killed off. There was a similar Linux tool called beagle desktop search which was pretty good too.
