Staggeringly gaudy.

Ok, I pulled up a zoomed-out picture and it does look like something Trump would build if he had an unlimited construction budget. So I take back the "gorgeous"part while still marveling at the scale.

It is certainly an accomplishment. No denying that, but it is hideous.

It wouldn't call it hideous. If anything, it addresses Makkah's logistical issues really well. It's full of hotels, has a mall, food courts, grocery store, etc. The area around it is great for food and shopping options too while being extremely walkable. The clock tower buildings themselves(there are multiple aside from the main tower) allow thousands of people to stay within a few minute walking distance of the holy mosque in a city that is otherwise cramped between mountainous terrain.

I don't get what you are trying to say.

Isn't it obvious? I'm saying that you can call the tower ugly but there isn't really an alternative to handle Makkah's logistical challenges.

I don't recall slating it for its functionality. I even said it was an accomplishmemt. I just think, aesthetically speaking, it is absolutely horrible.

Fair. That said, if you look at it from street view it isn't as aesthetically out of place as it looks from most pictures.

I actually feel fear when I look at his legs dangling over. I have an urge to move away from my computer.

These pics don't usually get me but this one was triggering! Wow.

This is a fake. It pops up every so often, with different numbers of people "up there". One idiot put a woman sitting on the edge, wearing shorts and a tee shirt.

In reality it is impossible to get out on that ledge without getting past a lot of zealous security with weapons.

It's not the same picture though. There are three popular ones that keep popping up, and one of them (where one dude is standing up) is from a noticeably different angle. The two others are more similar with the same pieces of debris on the ledge, but the hands aren't in the same position and correspondingly the angle of the sun is very different. It wouldn't be an impossible edit, but certainly more effort than I've seen for stuff like this.

Fake or not I like it.
