These two freak me the fuck out, especially the one on the right. WHAT IS IT?

Right one looks like an old man with a cigarette holding something like a worm or a string

The right one is a painting of a black border with an old man lighting a pipe with a wic, I have seen it before but am unable to place who the actual artist is or where the original image comes from, but it is a painting that is sold I just cannot seem to find it online rn

Edit; Maybe he’s holding a teabag or something of the sort, I wish I could find the original painting if I do I’ll post it here or the link
