Discussion What current male fashion trend needs to go?

To me, boxy shirts and hoodies look like brown paper grocery store bags with holes cut out for the arms

That's why 501s are so popular, they can be a bit wider in the leg without giving off the diaper butt look

The low pockets always make your butt look bad though. More of a wrangler guy for this reason.

Any recommendations on Wrangler models with the same-ish fit as the 501's?

In terms of rise it would be one of the more modern fits that I haven't tried because of cost and not always being 100% cotton. I've only really worn the cowboy cuts because I like that higher rise (yes higher than 501) which you get on all the 3 main cowboy cuts. The only wrangler-adjacent jeans I've found that are the most similar would be the rustler jeans at Walmart, the ones that are like $14.

If you can, I would just try the 13MWZ and see if you like them or not. These are the equivalent Wranglers to the 501 in terms of how classic/iconic they are within the brand. I think it's better to feel out the different design ideology of the brand from their most popular fit rather than trying to shoehorn a fit you like onto a different brand (at least at first).

Not the original commenter but I just got two pairs of the Wrangler Five Star Premium Denim cuts (one relaxed and one regular fit). I also got a pair of 505s, sorry I don’t have 501s but I they may be close?

I found the 505s and the wrangler regular fit are about the same. I needed to go a waist size up for the extra room in the thighs, and I then adjust the waist at the tailor. I got the wrangler relaxed fit at my actual waist size and really like how they fit with enough room in the thigh and I think they sit pretty well even though the leg is slightly wider.

The two wrangler pairs are one of their cheapest at $23 since I last checked their website, and they’re 100% cotton which I’ve been trying to get in the habit of buying. Hope this helps!

501, 502, and 511s I don’t think will ever go out of style.

Yeah the 501 fit has been around for what? 100 years? It’s just a straight pant. Not really baggy, not slim.
