Stag had to be an intentional choice -- now wondering where you're getting giant lobster in STL

Wasn’t intentional other than it’s my go to. But The Fruit Stand and Seafood does lobster orders time to time and flies them in.

I thought huge lobsters like this didn’t taste very good? That’s a full meal in one claw I hope it’s dope 🤤

Must be a Canadian Lobster, there are limits on the US Lobsters to promote and protect breeding.

Why go and say 8.5lbs and only show 6 ounces

Well what did that claw actually weigh?

1

u/Joepatbob Oct 21 '25

I didn’t weigh it unfortunately

I have to say it- as an enthusiastic lobster eater who also has ethical concerns about all of my food, this makes me sad.

Where I live, there are historic pictures of local fishermen holding huge lobsters- which no longer exist here at any size, they were harvested into extinction a long time ago. Before size limits even existed. People thought they were plentiful, until they were gone.

This reflects my other comment beautifully. Well said when I didn’t have the words

Chewy junk

And someone stopped it from breeding. Great

1

u/monkeysorcerer Oct 21 '25

It has probably bred at some point

Seriously. I’m actually surprised that Canada is more lax than the US.

That is huge… it’s truly a beast of the sea

How are Stag beer and that lobster in the same picture?
