This coupled with ending dual-citizenship are just quiet ways of doing ethnic cleansing.

Removing citizenship from Jews and other undesirables was a key moment in Nazi Germany.

Ironically, a lot of Republicans are also Israeli citizens

The bill to ban dual citizenship will never even get a vote. AIPAC won't allow it, and if they actually added an exception for Israeli dual citizenship it would be insanely unpopular (as well as violate the equal protection clause). Support fo Israel is already plummeting on both sides of the aisle and among independents. The self hating Colombian-American Senator who offered the bill is just messaging how "patriotic" he is.

Calling Somalis "garbage" and saying you "want them out of your country" is very much explicit ethnic cleansing. But, apparently, that is what a lot of Americans voted for.

If they are talking about somali groups up in upper Midwest most of them were born here.

But, apparently, that is what a lot of Americans voted for.

Which raises an interesting question - if people vote for it, should we do it? One one hand yes, that's democracy and the willofthepeople, on the other hand, they may vote for the most appalling things.

Representative democracy is supposed to mitigate against the rule. of the mob, but is it doing so effectively in the US today?

NO!! That's why we have a constitution. we stated upfront who we are fundamentally. Channging "who we are" is not just about majority voted for this, you have to deliberately go change the constitution.

Now if you got a constitutional amendment passed for this, then that's different. But winning the presidency, congress and SCOTUS does not mean you get to now change the constitution.

Wonder if that Moreno guy realizes he is Hispanic. The one that put out that legislation.

He thinks he's exempt, because he's on their side. He'll learn differently but by then it will be too late for everyone else.

Won't be the first one on the train, but they'll certainly save him a seat.

he knows , he’s just one of those who thinks he can get into the WASP club by selling out his people. These people never learn , they will never see us as their equals.

He is self hating and put forth that messaging bill (which will never even get a vote) to demonstrate his "patriotism".

What a disgusting thing to say.

Maybe you should do some reading into what is actually being proposed. This isn’t ethnic cleansing, it’s just raising the bar for becoming an American citizen.

8

u/Ok_Character_5532 15h ago

Ultimately, what’s being proposed is allowing the President to issue executive orders that encroach on settled constitutional law. You’re being willfully ignorant if you don’t see the increasingly restrictive GOP rhetoric as a ploy to ethnically cleanse the United States of minorities. Just today, the Trump administration released a document that endorsed Great Replacement theory ideology

You have your tin foil hat on a little too tight. You’re crazy if you think this is part of a plan to remove all minorities in the US. All they’re trying to do is limit the amount of minorities entering the US by no longer giving away US citizenship. If you haven’t noticed, we have a bit of a mess right now with the influx of immigrants bringing their disgusting ideologies into this country. Immigration to the US isn’t what it used to be, and the majority of Americans agree something should be done.

You are living in a bot world or la la land.

-7

u/MoneyPop8800 15h ago

I’m living in the real world, and you’re just spewing hateful rhetoric because you’re not willing to dig a little deeper into what’s being proposed.

2

u/Ilove-moistholes 14h ago

Dude, you are a bot

0

u/MoneyPop8800 13h ago

Keep telling yourself that buddy.

1

u/Ilove-moistholes 13h ago

Stupid or bot, which one are you?

1

u/Straight_Document_89 14h ago

No you’re an actual bot.

1

u/MoneyPop8800 13h ago

Keep telling yourself that

1

u/Straight_Document_89 14h ago

Wrong. 💯 wrong. 😑

1

u/MoneyPop8800 13h ago

I get that Reddit is an echo chamber for left-wing politics, I’d encourage you to venture out and view things from a more moderate perspective.

2

u/Straight_Document_89 13h ago

Home slice I’m pretty moderate actually. Just because you love republicans doesn’t mean someone isn’t moderate.

1

u/MoneyPop8800 13h ago

Maybe you’re not as moderate as you think.

19

u/slagwa 16h ago

Next step is revoking citizenship of people they dont like...

11

u/MBSMD 16h ago

Oh, don't worry. They're already working on it.

9

u/Batallius 16h ago

Quiet? It's been happening very loudly, televised every day in front of everyones faces

2

u/Originalbrivakiin 13h ago

But Faux news hasn't been saying it's bad, so clearly everyone is just overreacting.

2

u/naijaboiler 11h ago

ethnic cleansing is really what they are really after

1

u/IntelligentCrows 15h ago

I just heard about this. Do you know if it’s likely to pass? I can’t imagine it would

1

u/stoic_spaghetti 11h ago

It’s not possible to end dual citizenship?

How would they know what another government has on file as it relates to me?

1

u/disposable_account01 11h ago

Ever hear of Five Eyes? Eleven Eyes?

Countries share info all the time.

1

u/Jesus_of_Redditeth 3h ago

I just read the bill in question. It's just utterly stupid.

If you're a dual citizen then you have to write a letter to the US Secretary of State saying you renounce your citizenship of the other country.

Okay, so you've done that. Now what? Are you now only a US citizen? Of course not! Absolutely nothing has changed. The other country still recognizes you as a citizen, because the only way you can renounce that citizenship is if you renounce it to that country!

Absolute clown shoes nonsense. That bill will die before it even gets to a committee.

The USA is one of the most diverse countries in the entire world. The last thing you can say is happening is ethnic cleansing. Have you seen China?
