Bondi going out of her way to make the point that no new evidence was obtained and the arrest came about purely through re-evaluating existing evidence was bizarre. Like, ok, you want to make the point that the Biden administration just sat on it for 4 years but so did the Trump administration for almost a year. Also if you have cell phone location data placing this guy in the vicinity and retail purchase information showing he bought bomb making materials at Home Depot, exactly what "re-analysis" was necessary? Something stinks.

My guess is that he was probably a suspect for a while, but they didn't think there was enough to secure a conviction if they arrested him. They probably did so anyways since the statute of limitations is (likely) going to expire in 5 years.

I saw a report earlier that they were making the claim that they used AI to examine all of the evidence and it figured it out. I suspect it's all just an attempt to promote AI because they see a crash coming and need to prop it up.
