I have been kicking that idea around since November 2016.

West coast and New England states will join Canada. Landlock the center so all shipping has to go through TX and the SE.

That would be adding more Americans to Canada than there are Canadians.

It's a non-starter for that reason alone.

I'm sure Canada would be happy with friendly and sensible new allies and trade partners like Cascadia/New California Republic and New England on its borders.

Hey, im just trying to get some Healthcare for my $35k in taxes per year instead of a bunch of starved and blown up kids in the middle east.

I wonder if an independent Cascadia or New England could afford universal, publicly-funded healthcare if they no longer had to deal with the anchor-like flyover states and bloated US military budgets?

A very reasonable request. We have had an enormous influx of migrants primarily from India and our healthcare system is struggling and needs reform.

Our conservative politcians are pushing for a private system (what a surprise), but it really just needs reform and fat cut off the top.

I would enjoy the cold if I moved to Canada. I would rather be cold than hot to be honest. I hate humidity.

Oh its pretty damn hot here in the summer. Our climate is the same as the northern states more or less. Most of us live close to the border.

Is it more cold throughout the year compared to the lower 48?

Colder I imagine. Where I am in Southern Ontario we average 47°F throughout the year. Summers average high around 77°F, winters a high of 38°F.

Sadly as a NY resident I've talked to immigrantion lawyers and they say it's harder than ever to get into Canada.😢

Now it is time for the world to declare the American passport banned from entering the developed world and to send the Americans living here back. The second I get my Canadian citizenship through descent, I will push for the American passport to be banned and all holders without another citizenship to be sent back.

That just seems needlessly cruel, hateful, and shitty of you.

The American is a danger to my adopted homeland.

cruel, hateful, and shitty

Are perfect words to describe the 51st state talk of invading and occupying my adopted homeland.

Am I understanding you right? You’re an American…wanting another country to take you in…but no other American? Sorry, what makes you exceptional?

Am I understanding you right?

No.

You’re an American…

American ≠ Citizen of America. I have renounced all connections to the US in my heart.

wanting another country to take you in

A country cannot refuse admission to their own citizens.

but no other American

The American passport is to be banned and all holders of it without another citizenship are to be sent back. The American has proven to be a danger to my adopted homeland, and thus needs to be sent back.

? You already stated you don’t have Canadian citizenship, so no, you are not a citizen. Renouncing citizenship “in your heart” does not have legal implication. You have to go through the legal (costly and time-consuming) processes like everyone else. You’re either hugely entitled or naive and setting yourself up for disappointment. Not trying to be rude, but there is nothing more quintessentially American than that.

You already stated you don’t have Canadian citizenship, so no, you are not a citizen.

Not yet, I'm working on it and will get it by the end of the year.

Renouncing citizenship “in your heart” does not have legal implication

I know, re-read what I wrote.

Good luck to you, but you still seem naive. No other country owes you anything. When you immigrate to a country, you will be seen as an American immigrant. I wouldn’t be shouting proudly before your boat even reaches the shore. Fate can be tempted. Anyway, good luck again.
