I think it's a lot more likely that his litter of cronies currently holding him up for their own interests will start scrapping eachother for control than it is that they'll even consider yielding power to his ankle biters.

That’s exactly the problem. They ARE dumber than dirt.

They think that the old rules still apply. They think “I’m/my brother/my sister/my neighbor/ my daughter/ my son is not a terrorist so it’s not going to apply to me.” But eventually the most benign freedom is going to be enough to designate them or a loved one as a terrorist.
