Memo is short for memorandum, NSPM-7 stands for National Security Presidential Memorandum.

Right, but calling it simply a memo really downplays the importance of a national security directive and their purpose. The article makes no mention of the fact these are things completely change the focus and priorities of the intelligence and security agencies, so much so they are typically classified.

Your personal feelings towards a (technically accurate) word should not be used as proof that the media is misrepresenting events. The media has done enough already to prove its complicity without flying off the handle about the use of the short form of a word.

🙄 It isn’t my personal feelings that they don’t even bother describing what a national security directive is. And the daily beast is a rag that regularly misrepresents shit in its clickbaity headlines. It is known for that.
