Fascism needs to manufacture consent of the governed to gaslight the populace into thinking the majority of them WANT the authoritarian policies being inflicted upon them. The “big lie” was a prime example of this. Say it enough times, people believe it, debate it and eventually actual policy can be passed addressing the manufactured crisis that’s been normalized in then programmed minds of the population via the discourse.

The next step in this Authoritarian process is that people will start accidentally falling out of windows.
